But ofcause you were...... no hard feelings tho', after all, I just don't think applemax little hoax was worth the upset it created (for some). We really can't loose our sense of humor. It's really a good laugh. So I promise not to loose mine now that I'm accused of "double play" he he.
Are we really supposed to respond, "Oh, it's a faked event invitation with an extreme closeup of an Airport Express! That's hilarious! If only!"?
Please. I would have laughed at an invitation that had a tagline of "SNL wasn't wrong." with a picture of the guy imitating Steve Jobs and the iPod inviso. THAT'S funny!

No offense, but the day Apple takes an awkward, off-axis, distortion inducing, awkwardly cropped close-up shot of an Airport Express box and slaps some awkwardly positioned text over that and sends in on out as a "Special Event" announcement will be the day Steve hits the stage in jodhpurs and pirate shirt.
Not sure about this.
Mind you, it all smells like a fake to me too (has Apple ever tipped their hand so obviously?). But I wonder where would he get this particular picture? The posted link from Apple's website seems way too small to scale (well) to this size. Possibly a scan from the documentation that ships with the AE?
Still, I wish I had a dollar for every time someone chimed in on the "obviously fake" mockup because "you can see the Photoshop artifacts here, there and the other place...oh and the shadow is all wrong)" that turned out to be the real deal.

very true indeed. Unless they simply wanted us to speculate and at the same time felt VERY confident that we would not arrive anywhere close to the product waiting in the wing. Apple did send out an invite for the nano saying something like:
"a thousans songs in your pocket changed everything, here we go again" with the picture of a jeans pocket
So it did not show a "product" per se, it still left us with little doubt that we were gonna see a new kind of iPod.

I don't care about P'shop artifacts or shadows or any of that. This isn't a pic of a new product with dubious specular highlights.
In this case we can see exactly what is being presented as an Apple PR piece, and it looks bad. As in graphically clumsy and wrong and bad. As in poorly laid out and ill proportioned and bad.
Apple would never in a million years announce a special event with something that looked like that. Really, that's the whole story right there.

In theory you could be applemax Outsider, simply accusting someone else of being so, in order for everyone not to suspect you...see?
Someday perhaps I'll defend you from a flaming, and then someone will think I'm really YOU...
LOVE YOU ALL
