Why does it need a hinge or anything, i got the impression that this isnt one of the laptops with the screen that rotates to form a tablet, but rather a dedicated tablet without a keyboard at all.
This design isn't a enough. Call me an ass if you want but do you think that ANY computer would look like that? A monitor yes but a computer, no.

What you don't understand is that this "monitor" is the computer. Only instead of being tethered to the wall like and iMac, you can carry it around. You could used touchscreen controls or a stylus to navigate.
It's not a design contest, it's someone's idea of a computer they would like to see. So don't start telling us who can design and who can't, it's irrelevant and immature.
I'd say the chances of Apple releasing anything like this within the next 3-5 years is 50/50... But I predict that in 10-15 years there will be something very similar that is used to control aspects of your computer and home entertainment system from around your house, where it will be a wireless touchscreen tablet. Like the Wacom Tablet Monitor, but more of an accesory that replaces the mouse, the keyboard, and different remotes. Similar also to how the bottom screen on the Nintendo DS interacts with the top screen.

I'm saying that's not a real design, it's a monitor without a stand which is NOT what any tablet pc or tablet pc ad would look like.
I really REALLY doubt apple's first forray into the tablet world will be a slate tablet.
Given apple's recent patent filings, I'd bet a slate will be exactly what they introduce first...
That brings up another point. Given apple's activity lately with all these tablet patents, I think it's obvious that coming up with a compelling tablet interface is something that they're actively working on. Saying that they'll never come out with one is pretty foolish when this is taken into consideration.
That being said-- the mockup is pretty bad, even if it might be close to what Apple does eventually come out with. It' obviously just a hacked image of an iMac... Why not show us some more interesting facets of the design, like what the pen looks like, and what ports the thing has (and where they are). As it is, it's obviously just a quick hack job.
