In regard to iWeb, where does iWeb stash all of the bits and pieces of the websites we make? I built everything up on my iMac, and I want to do some work on my website with iWeb on my PB, but when I open up iWeb on my PB it's empty because I did all my work on my iMac. So where is all my work saved at on my iMac so I can migrate it over to my PB? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Well I haven't seen anyone talking about iPhoto yet. I'm wondering am I the only one with serious problems? I'm talking problems of a Microsoftian nature.
So I've been using iLife '06 that came with my new iMac core duo and it was bombing pretty frequently the past month. I can't recall the different bugs but there were at least 5, ranging from little things like locking certain albums and not allowing me to edit until I closed and restarted to consitently completely blowing up in the middle of making calendars. I have never seen an Apple program so bad.
Anyway, here's the point. I was quite excited to install yesterday's updates. I shouldn't have been. NOW IT WILL NOT RUN AT ALL!!
It begins to start, I get the iPhoto window, I see it "Loading Photos...." for a second and then boom: Application Shutdown! Anyone else in the same boat?
Sounds like you should reload the program.
First, run your install disk and fix permissions, then Restart. Be sure and go to the Preferences folder in /Library and delete anything related to iPhoto. then reload it and run the updates again.
I have a MDD dual 1 gb PowerMac running X.4.5, and am having NO problems with it at all.
I am a new Super Duper user, but never done anything more than clone for backup purposes.
That puts you ahead of many users. I always explain the importance of backups when helping my friends with computer issues but not all of them follow through. Had success today, though, while selling my 120GB FW drive to someone with the intention of helping him set it up for backups. And the extra cash helps finally justify buying a larger replacement drive.
My SuperDuper! usage has been relatively basic and conservative until now and I've never even tried the sandbox feature. My maybe-not-quite-accurate impression is that it's mostly useful for situations when you want to roll back to a previous system fairly frequently and quickly. I do know for sure it's not a replacement for regular backups.

I looked at the sandbox features of Super Duper, but am confused as to how to make the sandbox into the "main" system (ie. migrate changes from the sandbox to the unmodified bootable system).

If you can't find an answer in the documentation ask on the forum and Dave will certainly respond, often so quickly you'll think he's read your question before it arrives. Definitely take advantage of the superb support for SuperDuper! if you need it.
Hey apple, try testing longer, and updating less. You're customers would appreciate it!
I oh so agree...
I also oh so am wondering, does Apple seed iLife apps to a test-usergroup as it does for OX updates? Not only were (are) there many bugs in iLife 06, but it's especially the type of bugs that diturbs me... some of them turn an application practically unusable. E.g. the fact that for a substantial number of users (yes, me included) emptying the trash in iPhoto crashes the app...
And why?
I have come to believe that the iPod and iTunes success has been using up a lot of Cupertino attention, focussing a lot of resources at that new cash cow, seemingly at the expense of other products.
Is Apple growing too fast, too furious? ... oh brothers, there are some difficult times ahead...

I suppose... never really analyzed what was there.

At first glance, I thought it was the full size of iTunes + Quicktime, but iTunes 6.0.3 separate download is 19.x MB, Quicktime Installer was 49MB.
OK -- THAT makes sence!

Okay, that's enough thread hijacking.
