    Cool idea though.

The iVisor FX601 is 800x600 (rgb) and runs around $400. It is OLED. The eMagin Z800 3DVisor is $550 and the same res (also OLED). The icuiti DV920 has a iPod combo and is also 640x480 and also runs around $550 (iPod not included...). The DV920 is LCD and more suitable for mobile use.

Eh, another year or so and it should be viable. The UMPC are only 800x480 native so 800x600 is viable. The Z800 is USB powered.

Lots of neat ideas in this thread. I like the goggles idea.

UMPC running OS X? Sounds a little too "me too"-ish for Apple. Still, a product somewhere between a MacBook and an iPod would be quite something, and I think I remember hearing about some patent filings that could lead to that.

Well, it may be me too but remember all the current MacBooks use stock Intel motherboards so using a UMPC board is no great stretch.

By dropping the features Apple could do UMPC right - 1 USB, 1 Firewire, Airport, Bluetooth and nothing else. Light, simple, elegant.
