What have you done? Give up your SUV for a more fuel efficient car? Walking to work now? Taking mass transit? Giving blood or volunteering in a soup kitchen? Joined the army?
After the keynote (when you will be disappointed for sure), take off your cloth, all of it, climb on top of whatever building is nearest, start booing!, continue until the nice people come to take you to a nice place in their nice white car, boo until they give you a nice injection.
Did people stop booing bad performances on the football field or comedy clubs just because of 9-11? No way. It's part of who we are - to be able to voice our displeasure in public forums I mean.
If Apple has just been slinging shit at us for the past week and really doesn't have anything revolutionary (as opposed to evolutionary) besides just a new iMac, hell yah he should get booed. I'd boo him. Granted I wouldn't throw a digital camera at him, but I'd boo.
<strong>It would be rude to boo the speakers during the keynote. But of course, that won't stop people from doing it. Not only because rudeness is seldom recognized today (which is true), but because such is the level of scorn at the disruption of our steady stream of luxurious new high-tech toys.
It seems to me that sometimes our sense of entitlement runs a touch too high when it comes to things like this. Consumption trumps anything that could ever happen, apparently. It's depressing to wonder if we're deluding ourselves when we insist that consumerism has not skewed our (post-Sept. 11?) priorities, rather than simply serving us.

New official threadstopper. The equivalent of invoking Hitler or Nazis, but this is newer and therefore more mod and fashionable. 9/11 someone before they 9/11 you.
If this show sucks, it'll be a disaster of Steve's own making, and he'll be booed quite deservedly.
But In the event of an utterly crap show, I think it would be better if people quitely stood up and orderly left the convention en masse. No Applause, no recognition of Steves ussual "I'm finished and now you may genuflect before me conclusions." Everyone just leaves him there waiting for the customary/polite applause.
Can you imagine how it would play in the press?
But I think the show HAS TO BE GOOD, there's just no way Steve could be that dellusional about the significance of his products, or is there?

If he shows up, and doesn't curse, he will not get boo'd.
I can't help but feel for him.
