That's not actually humorous at all, no mechanics com home form work without washing their hands. You know what I mean, the Mighty Mouse scrollball gets stuck even with clean hands.
alot of mechanics use surgical type gloves now anyways \
Add a line down the middle for two distinct buttons, a slightly larger scroll wheel, and the ability to use the side buttons independantly, and the current design would be just fine.

Yes, they need to split into 2 buttons, and alter the ability for the mouse to recognize 2 inputs at once. My biggest frustration when using the Mighty Mouse (which I otherwise really like) is the fact that if I set the side buttons to Expose, I can't envoke Expose, then left click to drag and re-envoke EXPOSE while still holding down the left-click. THere are plenty of times I need the ability to do that, especially since Pages won't always 'see' a drag into a document until you bounce in and out of the application a few times.
3. More configuration options in preferences = very good
4. I'm getting one for free from Apple because I can't fix my existing Mighty Mouse = pleasant surprise that may cause jealously amongst other Mac users
5. Still has the same dirt attracting Scroll ball = flawed design
For me Apple can copy it and make it in white with the Apple logo then it's done.
Cheers
Figures. Apple releases this less than a week after I purchased a keyboard/mouse combo using RF (requiring a dongle) from Logitech.
On the one hand I love the Logitech Cordless Desktop s530 for its comfortable, enhanced keyboad and stylish buttons-galore mouse. On the other hand I hate plugging in a USB cord every day, so I typically just use it at my desk and not on the go.
The Mighty Mouse is inferior as a mouse, simply because it can't recognize 2 different clicks simultaneously. It's also more expensive (totaling $130+ for mouse and bluetooth keyboard).
On the other hand, it's APPLE, it's BLUETOOTH, requires no dongle...
Hmm. What to do...Not even sure if I can still return the Logitech..
Actually I do like a lot all the buttons and the design fit's well in the hand. very comfortable.
I have the mighty mouse but I dropped it after while. I don't even care about the wireless one.
The truth for me the favorite thing is the Wacom tablet. I had a forearm injury for excessive mouse use. After I switch to the tablet it went away and it's way more comfortable than any mouse.
I use my Wacom 85% of the time and the Logitech the rest of it.

Which model Wacom do you use? Maybe I should try one because I had similar issues. I went left-handed just to relieve the fatigue in my right hand.

Why would you need FireWire?
Firewire is übergeil, thats why.
USB would do the trick as well, though.
I'd had to go with a huge thumbs down on firewire in a mouse.
(I found no information on a FireWire refresh rate. USB's is indeed 125 Hz.)

1. "New" Laser tracking = very good
2. No wire = very good
3. 2 or "even one" AA battery = very good
3. More configuration options in preferences = very good

Very cool mouse IMHO.
