Um... something's wrong. iTunes is using 125% of my processor speed, and it's steady! When I turn on visuals, they crawl at 5 fps, but when I click on a menu or open the options dialog, the fps jumps to 30! WTF? Anyone else seeing this?

This new iTunes rocks - I don't understand how you guys can say it is not worth of the v3.0 tag! It is at least as big as the v2.0 upgrade was.
Just found another change too - instead of saying ' 1:04:18:02' or whatever at the bottom for the length of the library, it now says '1 day'. You can click to change back to the old settings too. Great app all round I say - every feature I have ever thought of is implemented now - now we just need a more compact interface to keep us 1024x768 users happy! Great work Apple! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />
In case anyone didn't realise (I didn't for a few minutes, oops <img src="graemlins/embarrassed.gif" border="0" alt="[Embarrassed]" /> ), to create a 'Smart Playlist', you can option-click the create playlist button, rather than having to use the menu. Worth it just to see the nice little icon.
It doesn't install on OS 9 <hr></blockquote>In case you missed Steve's mock funeral at the WWDC in May (which was hilarious!), from the developer standpoint Mac OS 9 IS DEAD. Finito. Gone. Outta here. Kaput. Anyone caught developing for it might as well be dead too.
It's time to move on and embrace current and future technologies.
No more programs will be developed for OS 9, but current programs can still be ported. Anyway, I won't argue, lost cause and all. I'll go stew in a corner. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />
I downloaded iTunes 3, restarted my computer and now all of my Mozilla bookmarks are gone!
WTF happened?</strong><hr></blockquote>
No problem here. Just the usual Mozilla glitches <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />
wow... just downloaded itunes 3, and kicked on full-screen visuals. keep in mind that i own an imac dv se 400 (first generation graphite), and the frame rates are the best EVER for itunes visuals (this is full-screen only... it's still a bit chunky when running alongside other stuff in a window).
i can only imagine how well it'll run under 10.2.
damn, maybe apple does deserve my cash. no. must hate.... must haaaaaate... must put down credit card....

<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> ooooooooh, that is nice.....
* Bands listed by first letter instead of "The" (mentioned earlier in thread)
* Don't know if people caught this, but it moves your iTunes folder from Documents to Music. I had fun trying to explain to newbies why their music was in documents.
I noticed that when I selected multiple items and hit command-i, it asked me if I wanted to edit multiple items. I said, "OK" (and checked "Do not show me this again") and a dialog appeared with checkboxes next to a single window (no tabs) of all the options and tags for the files. Altering the info in any field with a checked box changes that info for all of the songs selected.
I don't think I ever tried this with iTunes 1 or 2. Is this a new feature too?
<strong>I don't think I ever tried this with iTunes 1 or 2. Is this a new feature too?</strong><hr></blockquote>Nope, that was in the original iTunes as well as Sound Jam (the program iTunes was built on).
Comments
Okay, that made no since, but if you look up a band such as "The Beatles", they will be in the "B's" on the alphabetical list.

Problem found with iTunes 3:
It doesn't install on OS 9
[/sarcasm]
Boooo. This MWNY is full of disappointments.
It's like macworld never happened to me...
I'll buy OS 11. The bugs will be worked out, and I will save money from the yearly upgrades all you users will buy.
(Sorry if this sounds mean. As I said, I am disappointed.) <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

just found the option to add track numbers to the files you rip in their trackname.
I'm sure soundjam used to let tyou do this, and i'm very glad to see it again in itunes3. no more editing the names in finder or using mad scripting!!

It only took me three years to discover this. Keeps me humble... <img src="graemlins/embarrassed.gif" border="0" alt="[Embarrassed]" />
