    Those are different batteries. The recalled G4 laptop batteries are different batteries from the MBP exchange. The MBP batteries are not unsafe, according to the link I provided.

    Fair enough. Mostly I just wanted to repost that excellent pic of a laptop friggin exploding and stuff. In any case, free brand new batteries are always fun. Especially if your current one has lost some charge. I don't qualify for the G4 batteries, got a iBook 14" G4 not 12" and my iBook battery is at 40% capacity max according to CoconutBattery (http://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconutbattery/ --- jeez, that guy's battery on the screenshot is way way worse than mine)

    Somehow, I really wasn't paying attention. It turns out that my battery qualifies for an exchange. The site did not ask for my credit card or user information, it just simply asks for the return of the old battery for recycling.
