how about an ad that does a split screen tracking of two families at the point of sale, one buying a PC, the other an iMac. Maybe they say the exact same thing, but the Apple on the Apple side of the screen the Clerk adds "And remember to come by one of our tutorials if you have any questions, or to our Genius bar if you have any problems". Both sides of the screen drive home and start to unpack their computers. The iMac family plugs one plug in and has their keyboard/mouse plugged in and the computer powering up in an instant, and you see them together using the computer (maybe a shot of the Dad setting parental controls on the kids accoutn). On the PC side of the screen the parent is crouched under the desk w/ a flashlight trying to figure out where to plug in the keyboard and mouse, installing software and the family (if they are still there) is sitting around looking extremely bored.

Or the ad starts with both of them powering up the computer for the first time. Both iMac and PC family have digital cameras they connect and the iMac of course instantly recognizes them and starts to import into iPhoto, the PC family's computer of course doesnt' have the software, so they go about installing and restarting. Meanwhile the Apple side of the screen has uploaded the roll of film to iWeb and emailed a Photocast to Grandma and Grandpa and their daughter at college. Maybe the daughter video Ichat's the dad just to say, hey Dad, nice photos. Ad ends with part of the iMac family outside playing catch or something and the mom and daughter video ichatting. On the PC side of the screen it just shows a dialog box that says "You must now restart your computer".

    Totally agree with that.

As for the OP's ad, I'd also say it was too long. I don't think there has to be two Macs. The 1st Mac could have misplaced his photos and gone back to get them. They need ot be short and snappy. I don't think all the Apple ones are all that good though. The touche one was a bit dumb - nobody likes people who correct grammar or spelling.

    another term for Tarmac .

DERIVATIVES tarmacadamed adjective ORIGIN late 19th cent.: from tar 1 + macadam .

I'm not an idiot -- I know what Tarmacadam is. It was someone else who asked what it was. Very smooth Einstein.

I'll accept the claim that you are not an idiot merely as your point of view and a theory, since it's not 100% proven yet... despite mounting evidence. \

I like it alot. I like the second one more tho. Its better to see what you can do with a Mac vs. a Pc. I liked how you said a dad with a flashlight plugging stuff in, I've been there. Ugh.

    Good job with the commercials.
