XGhozt, there are probably a lot of folks who would enjoy the rare opportunity to chastize a snotty teenager, and this seems like a perfect place to do it.
Teenagers have annoyed and bothered the world since time began, and the chances for mature and responsible people to get their revenge have been few and far between.
No wonder you aren't getting any help. If you make it a point to make errors no one will understand you. I would think that if you were as great at hacking and such as you say you would know your way around a keyboard and be able to type in a quick, clear, and efficient manner. Clearly that isn't true.
... I dont make it a point to type like that. I just dont spend the time to correct my typos. I type like 83 WPM and so I just typo alot.. I dont see the need to correct it, and, wait, dude what the fuck thats not the point. Stop wasting my time.
Im sure you understand the issue here. Tell if you have a solution, or dont reply. Telling me I typoed to much is not the solution.

I did that. I ddint mess up. I know there are ltos fo spelling and shit all ove rmy posts, I dont find it worth it to perfect my post. I figure, it you cant understand it, you dont deserve to be on the internet, as these are known as "typos" and "the lazy finder"...

I dont need support, I need advice. I dotn own a macintosh, Just lots of emulation software on my pc. I would never buy anything from apple. You know, if someone has any ideas on how to fix this. Im nto asking you to do it for me. Just summarize your idea. Ill understand you.
Things like "dont hack it" and .. oh gawd its not worth it you get the idea, unless your an idiot.
I love how your proving lundy's point. You're not helping the reputation of teenagers. Anyway, my advice would be to work backwards. Turn off the computer and then on again, from there examine the logs. See if there's anything odd, but I'm sure in all you gl0ry and l33t haxor-ness, you already did and everything is fine.
EDIT: Omitted a verb. I actually want to be understood.

I explaind it already. I did that, and I dont see anything that looks wrong. Its just not booting osx. I remember this happened before, and it wanted to boot in ox 9 and it was missing system files and so the boot failed. I fixed with with a firewire and you get the idea.
but at this point I dont have a firewire or another mac. I worked backwards always, I undid everything exactly in the order I edited it.
Please try to understand im not trying to show "hacker status" Im asking mac users for help. And your not setting a good example for macintosh. Its users cant even answer a question. Its as if you are avoiding it. Its pathetic.
Look, I answered it to the best of my knowledge. I did directly answer your question. All I can recommend from here is to boot from the discs (which you don't have) and/or somehow recover the system files because I'm sure that clearing everything and restarting would work.

Yeah I know.. Thats what bugging me, there should be a way to fix it without doing that. Aint that the famouse quote? "Fine use windows and jsut get used to re-imageing your hd every other day". I have used windows for.. well forever and if never needed to reimage becuase it was working.
I know that would fix it, and that will be done on monday by the school if I dont get it booting properly.
Thank you for your answer, but I was hopeing to avoid that, thus the reason im posting here.
... Well that was just another useless post from a macintosh user now wasnt it. Im not Toast at all, I own a pc. 8) This is my brothers laptop..
Edit: Now that I think about it. Is'nt there a way to restore default settings on files? I know there is a way to do that on my linux server, sort of a panic move but at least the system will boot if allt he configurations are reset!
/var/db/.AppleSetupDone - This file, simply by existing, indicates that the computer has had basic setup performed. If you delete this file, the Setup Assistant will run on the next reboot, allowing you to create a new local admin account, re-setup networking, etc.
Hmm, looks like it really does have nothing to dow ith hacking! Bastards.

Got any ideas now, or does a pc user know more about your mac then you do.
Well Inensteen, all us bastages still haven't seen jack. So you quote s snippet from a file that is supposed to be on the box, but you still aren't done. Not only aren't you done but it's still busted.
but hey
Quote:
"what I did was way more safisticated then hacking a laptop"
/etc/rc line 78: syntax error need unexpected token 'then'
/etc/rc line 78: 'bif [ -s /etc/ptmp ]; then'
localhost:/ root#
After seeing that, and googleing. I figured out what I did was not hacking, but more "resetting" and it would not mess up that file. So this is indeed a valid question, and im jsut asking for help.

- cursing at the members
