The whole problem wouldn't exist if Apple put out a headless with integrated graphics and a free PCI Express slot. ATi and nVidia and their upgrade offerings for the Mac Pro would give gamers what they want without Apple lifting a finger.
Yes, but it still remains Apple will likely NOT put out headless with free PCIEx and ATI/nVidia offering Mac cards - Since this headless would target gamers quite strongly, not much point because they would rather build and tweak their Dells, Alienwares, or custom-built AMD or particularly now, overclocked Core2 systems, along with a extremely wide range of video cards - a range that ATI/nVidia would never match in terms of Mac cards. Also, the market would still be too small for people like XFX, BFG, MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte to get in on delivering those Mac cards, the Mac cards would have to come stock from ATI/nVidia, as with the current cards in the Macs.
