Here is where you are totally Wrong. I am from Lousiana as well; New Orleans born and raised. You say flying the Confederate flag is a symbol of respect and heritage. When you say that, I am assuming you mean this flag (follow the link)
Well you ar totally wrong to idolize that flag as a symbol of the Confederacy, because that was NOT the Confederate National Flag This Was: The Stars and Bars
The Stars and Bars served as symbol of national identity while the Navy Jack (Battle flag) flew only in battle.
Thus your choice of flag represents a STATE OF WAR against the United States. If you want to take pride in your southern heritage, fly the Stars and Bars (as I do) it stands for Heritage and National Identity.
And I want to ask you a question, and it may sound offensive, but that is not my intent: Why would you post something like this? You have made yourself look so bad with your poor spelling and punctuation, you sound like an uneducated swamp dweller. That has been a stereotype I have been fighting since I moved away from Louisiana. You make your fellow Southerners (including myself) look bad. You didn't do your research when talking about an outmodded flag and got it wrong like so many other people. Please, for the sake of the rest of us, do your research, educate yourself on what you believe in, and most of all DO NOT REFER TO NORTHERNERS AS "YANKEE'S"!!!!! it makes you look like a fool and completely destroyes the point you tried to get across.
EDIT: Dyslexia got the better of me and needed to fix some spelling errors
why do you care what i'm talking about anyways yeah you don't even live in louisiana anymore, and i could spell this right and punctuate it right but ya'know thats the thing with me "i don't give a shit"so as far as "southerners"go...all my friends and damn near about 90% of shreveport are just like me nobody cares and i don't make southerners look bad because if i was about hate then i would be on here talking worse using slang terms and really acting stupid but i'm not i think that people who don't understand and won't take the time to listen should just shut up because like i said "NOBODY GIVES A SHIT"
p.s. oh yeah and i'm not mad so don't take it the wrong way...
I know you don't care but you really should spell right and punctuate your sentences it practically gives you no credibility in your argument when writing at an adolescent level and Metrokid cared what you were talking about because you attempted to speak for an entire region and said some pretty ignorant comments and when you make ignorant comments you get responses and you don't make southerners look bad you make them look horrible blah blah blah blah blah...
As a Texan, I would like to get on with the business of being a part of the United States of America. I see no need to celebrate our unfortunate blunders, like siding with the Confederacy. It's undeniably a part of our history, but not a part towards which I feel any particular pride.
State's rights, my ass. Unless you mean by that state's rights to keep black people as slaves. That was the "right" that was in contention. I'm glad it got taken away, and I'm glad the Confederacy lost the Civil War.

P.S. BLAH
1) Bizarre focus on "southern pride".
2) Talks in incredibly long, breathless run-on sentences.
3) All riled up!
4) Don't take no guff from nobody!
5) Very set in his own ways and wants everyone to know he's not about to change any of those ways.
Might be good for a small running series of (probably mostly lame) Saturday Night Live skits. I think you need to work on this character a bit more.
So how long have you been working on creating this new online persona? Seems to boil down to...

Doesn't that imply that there are non-lame SNL skits?

What's that advertising slogan Texas uses again?

You mean the one they switched to after they realized "Free Range Fuckheads" wasn't quite setting the tone they had in mind?

No. That was earlier. The one a couple of years after that was "Visit Texas: BUT DON'T MAKE ME TAKE MAH SHIRT OFF AND WHOOP UP ON YEH!"
"Visit Texas: BUT DON'T MAKE ME TAKE MAH SHIRT OFF AND WHOOP UP ON YEH!"
I didn't think the Texan accent could be articulated and heard through writing. Once again, I am proved wrong.
hello moe!
It's not Moe.
