Indeed, some modern thoughts are trying to get the bulk of the ship under water (less visible to radar) and possibly even make remote missile platforms that are submarine based.
Too bad the US screwed up its torpedo desing prior to WWII or it would have been a shorter war. Too many torps missed their targets for the first two years due to bad design and testin.

Though unguided, it is VERY fast annd thus hard to get away from for a large ship (changing course ain't a snap).

Being the article said it had a nuc warhead and can only be fired from 7500 yards (less than 4 miles) I don't think it needs to be too accurate...
They seem to be working on a new version that is conventional (non nuke) and also has a guidance system.
Either way, I don't want to be in its target hairs!
