It's also known by 0.8.1 I believe it is. Regardless it says clearly it's a beta.
Version numbers are really only there so you can follow development history. As long as they attach the beta you know it isn't a final version and whether they call it 1.0 or 12.2 doesn't really matter one bit.
When Apple does release it as 1.0 proper it will be considerably more polished that what you'd see in a beta.

Apple stated it has been in development for a year. More importantly though it has only been open for public testing for near on a week now and nothing assists browser development like public testing to find bugs.

Having a quick hunt around my Applications folder, it seems that the convention is that brushed-metal apps don't have a toolbar widget. Definitely it would be useful, though: I like to have as little gumph at the top of the browser window as possible (address box, back, forward, stop and refresh are all I really need), but at least Safari remembers how I set it up last time around.

On my machine, if I collapse the toolbar on a Finder window, all new Finder windows open with it collapsed. This is under 10.2.2, I don't know about any other version.

There is no print icon for the tool bar, and I think I know why... If you try to proint a large page it only prints what is visable including the scroll bars <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

The network preferences said the IP was user-defined at 169.xx.xx. Anyway, it kills the internet connection and the only way to get it back is to delelte eveything relating to safari on your hard drive. It's not fatal compared to some of the safari bugs out there, just a big pain in the arse. Anyway else have this happen?

I'd say your network was just down and in the time it took to delete all things Safari it came back up.

In the Finder go to the menu Finder
Check the box "Open folders n new window"
