I believe the stubby nano is happening... so to speak... but it will not be 'sold' to us that way. It has too many negatives in comparison to the old nano (and like the guy you were responding to I think there'll be another regular nano update).

What I'm saying is that Steve could potentially present the following, fitting with the rumours we have

    1) a 3g nano - very very similar to the 2g, perhaps 1cm shorter. (Never rumoured). Same price points.

    2) a 6g iPod (+ video) - "we took the 5.5g iPod and gave it flash memory which made it half as thick as the old 5g, we also shortened it a little, added OSX, & improved the battery life for 5 hours of video!, at the same 2 price points". These would be the "Stubby Nanos", but it sounds better to say "thin iPods". I'd guess 8GB & 16GB (but I'd hope for double that).

    3) a new Video iPod - full screen, big hard disks, touch screen, flash ram cache. This is better technology than today's ipods and will cost more (eg $450). At the higher price it won't cannibalise the iPhone (they may match the iPhone cost, and/or discount the iPhone).

Not to say any of the above is true... just makes more sense to me than the interpretations we have.

I read on the Tube this morning the other possible news, or only news, will be the Beatles music coming on to iTunes...not being a Beatles fan I cannot say that interests me much.
