That's good to hear. It was one of the few I have seen other than Sosumi that I would actually use.</strong><hr></blockquote>

I concur. It was the first X theme that I really had to have. Liked it so much that I host it for him on my server. Remember all those iDisk problems he was having long ago?

Indeed I am right now! How'd you know?

Expect there to be minor bugs with mine, though, because Apple still hasn't fixed the widget problems I've noted before.

star yeah the widget problem... the scroll thumb problem.. the problem with iTunes not using double scroll....

Apple wants 3rd party apps to be consistent. But why should they when Apple isn't? <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[Are you kidding?]" />

Ugh, hello? Guy who's hosting your theme for you. Remember me? Besides, you said so yourself a few days ago over on the MacNN forums. And I don't mind the glitches, just get Iridium 1.1 out the door! <img src="graemlins/biggthumpup.gif" border="0" alt="[Thumbs Up]" />

I am thinking about doing another theme other than Sosumi here soon. It might be a rounded off theme. I have some ideas.

    cool!

<a href="http://www.mediachrome.co.uk/staging/temp/theme1.png"; target="_blank">here</a> is a preview of my XP Silver inspired theme (16K image linked instead of inline to save ruining the thread layout). If you look at the image you can see a few problems I am having with it. Maybe someone can help?

    1. The 'Disabled Tab' it's not like that in Sprocket, why has it gone black? And what's with the yellow line?

    2. If you look at the inactive maximise icon it also has black bit's in it?

    3. I can't seam to find the resorce for the fill behind the 'Tabs' does anyone know which it is?

p.s The Popup menu ('Everest') is still in 'Sosumi' this will be changed.

You don't have the Alpha mask set right. A easy way to do Alpha masks is to us a app called Premultiplier. It lets you take your image.. the mask and it will automatically give you the outcome. You can get it here

    Same reason.. it's the masks.

    Not sure what your meaning.

You I noticed you used my theme as a template and I don't mind at all. I also noticed you used my radio button. And I don't mind. I hate ugly radio buttons.

Your XP theme looks really sweet.

    New Theme.

    <a href="http://www.desktopper.net/xenogenesis110.bin"; target="_blank">xenogenesis v1.1.0</a> <a href="http://www.desktopper.net/xenogenesis112update.dmg.gz"; target="_blank">xenogenesis1.1.2 update</a>

    from <a href="http://www.desktopper.net/"; target="_blank">www.desktopper.net</a>

It's a bit flat but the people calling for a 'Plain' theme should be happy

That looks horrible IMHO. I saw it earlier.

Yeah, really horrible. I just tried it and now I can't get back to Aqua or Godiva.

How do I switch back manually? I have the files, but MMX won't switch them correctly.

I think I won't use themes anymore until it works much, much better. This sucks, I'm stuck with the worst possible theme for OS X. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

[EDIT: And to top it off, my iBook hard drive won't even mount now. ]

    Sweet Jesus!

Why in God's name would you try and mimick the ugliest of the XP themes??

Blue and Olive are far more attractive than icky Silver. It looks like a bad Kaliedoscope theme!

I always thought the silver one looked better than the Blue.

In my opinion the ugliest X theme so far is that Titanium one. Just wreaks of a 2 bit Classic scheme. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

"wreaks" eh? you mean it wreaks havoc? is that the new "opens a can of whoopass"?

Anyway, FYI, I upped a <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/starfleet/.Movies/WidgetBugCarbon001.mov"; target="_blank">tiny, little 32 kilobyte movie</a> to my iDisk showing off another annoying flaw in the HIToolbox. If you don't know what the movie is showing, it's that in Carbon apps, when you mouseover the window widgts, they appear to fall back to the "disabled" state. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

It doesn't do that in sosumi.. but I might have things set up differently to my mousovers. But yeah it's another lame "feature"

What we need is a NeXTStep theme. I know people were working on one before - most of them stopped, and most of them gave up after 10.1 came out.

The PB had many NeXT UI elements left in its guts, so it should be simple to make one. It also should be easy with that 'plain' theme shown above.
