While the PhotoBooth's technique is a clever attempt to add a camera flash where none exists the effect is minimal despite the size of the display (compared to the iPhone) and close proximity of the image being taken (usually a person less that 24" away).

The fact that there is no known Flash version for OS X on the ARM platform seems like a correct answer to me.

Not only that, if you'd like for people to receive it as a text message, you can send the email to: ###-###-####@teleflip.com

(This may work only in the US, though).

Hey Einstein, what if someones phone doesn't have email capabilities?

How come it's always the people who start their posts with "umm" that are the biggest id*ots?

I'm not saying that using the screen as a flash would work, just trying to make sense of the comment.

No, it can work in the UK as well. Also, there is an website designed specifically for O2 customers with an iPhone to receive an MMS. It's on Apple's Webapps page. And before anyone says... but I want to be able to get them when I'm not on the internet... you need internet access (GRPS/EDGE/3G) do download an MMS.

Samnuva: Don't take this guy personally. He seems like a nasty little bugger, but really all that happens is, he occasionally wakes up from his slumber, succumbs to his seemingly incurable case of tourette's syndrome, and goes right back to sleep.

Of course email is better quality than MMS: because you can't bloody do it with MMS - anything would be better. Printing the picture out and posting it to friend is currently better than MMS on the iPhone.

I'm the only person I know with an iPhone, all of my friends have 'regular' phones and it's become a bit of a running joke that I've been cut out of the loop since I got my iPhone. A lot of my friends find it absolutely hillarious that I can't even send pictures via MMS after shelling out the best part of £900.

It's kind of like buying an HD TV and then finding out that you can't watch the regular channels anymore - only the HD channels.

Where is a To Do app? It should have been in the launch product, and still no sign of it after 6 months.

I wish Apple would focus on some core functionality, instead of superficial features like rearranging Home page icons, and so on....

Nope, Notes are purely text notes. A To Do app would sync individual To Dos (along with alarms, and other details related to the To Do) with iCal or Entourage. Not the same thing.

It is possible that yours is, but most people's personal lives (which is primarily the market that the iPhone is currently aimed at) are not that complicated.........

    Give me a break.

To Dos are a fundamental feature of iCal, Entourage, Outlook, Exchange, the Palm OS, and pretty any personal organizer ever made. They're not complicated, unless you'd call email an unnecessary complication over simple pen and paper.

Writing out To Dos as simple text notes would be more complicated and tedious for people than using a proper To Do system. You couldn't schedule reminders. You couldn't move a To Do from one day to another, or prioritize them easily. They wouldn't sync effortlessly with your desktop computer, so you wouldn't have a copy of them no matter what screen you happened to be looking at (desktop, laptop, iPhone, etc.).

Anyway, Apple thought that To Dos were important enough to add into Leopard's new Mail program, so it's not too much to ask for iPhone support as well.
