WiKiMe gives typical tourist information centred around your current position as determined by the iPhones Maps / GPS. It works very well though I've only tried it in Europe so far. It costs only 59 pence, (about 25 cents), so you can't go wrong .... and if you do go wrong, you'll know where you are and what's around you!!!

Zeptopad was just updated to version 1.5; it's a big improvement to an already great app. At this rate, I am really looking forward to version 2, which I hope will have a computer-based version so that files can be edited on the computer, too.

I hear Shazam is awesome, though it doesn't like classical music. It's an app that ID's any song recording you make with the phone's mic.

Shazam is pretty neat. There was a commercial on tv yesterday that had a song on it. I held up the phone and Shazam tagged it. It gives you lyrics, the album, and even youtube video.

    Pretty neat.

(this is almost the same review I did on another iPhone forum, but decided to post it here as well)

I stumbled on this little game just few days ago as a recommendation from my friend. The game is called Speed Tester.

It's a fairly simple game, that is quite accurate replica of a classic finnish arcade game from mid 90s (as far as I know, this App is developed also in Finland). The idea of the game is really simple: there are 4 buttons that lights up randomly and you have to hit them in same order as fast as you can, 'cause the game speeds up as your score rises, and also if you don't hit the buttons fast enough. As I said earlier, it's fairly simple, BUT damn addictive. I've found myself trying to beat my previous hi-score over and over again, "if I just can beat it by one!" Even my girlfriend seemed to got quite addicted, and she's not even a gaming nerd as I am.

I really think that this little game is so far THE best value for my money when it comes to iPhone Apps bought from App Store (only 99cents, imo really cheap comparing to the entertainment value). The only little minus I found is that there's only the best hi-score showing, not a hi-score-list or anything, where you would be able to see who has the 2nd, 3rd, 4th (and so on) best scores, only the best. Graphics are nice, fits in the nature of the game really well (I really like the graphic of the icon <- important feature, hah! )

It seems that the developer has it's own web site for the Speed Tester (there's a gameplay video, screen shot and appropriate App Store links) -> http://kokki.pp.fi/speedtester/

App Store link: Speed Tester @ App Store (hope I got this right)

    Yours,

-Jarkko (my first review ever, hope you guys like it and hope my english is comprehensible )

Check the site http://kokki.pp.fi/speedtester/ for screen shots etc.

Right now I like Shazam, Banner Free (though controlling the scroll speed is needed), and grocery gadget (manages all types of shopping lists).

As a business App developer there needs to be a way to respond to comments left by individuals. And there needs to be some way to regulate comments. Currently anyone can leave bad comments about your game or your application and have never purchased it. This is truly sad as the developers many who have put in a lot of time have no way to offer feedback or respond to comments posted on the App store.

We have written a business app that allows you to run FileMaker Pro on your iPhone and your iPod touch. The App FMTouch took us over 7 months to write and contains over 30,000 lines of code. This is by no means a simple application. Yet anyone can leave a review of 1 star without so much as even visiting our website or actually reading all of the details about the complexity of the application.

Yes I believe everyone is welcome to an opinion, but I wish that Apple would make it so you had to actually download the software before you could review it. It's like looking at a car and then writing and article on how the car handles without ever driving the car. I would love to be able to respond to the feedback as I think this would not only be helpful to others but educational as well.

Our cost for our app is built around - apple taking 30% and our company using a large percentage of the earnings to support a large support infrastructure. Phone, Email and Forum support. We also have figured into our pricing free upgrades for a year - which there will be many. We want to develop serious applications for the iPhone so it can stand out in the business mobile market as a worth adversary!

    I welcome your thoughts!

    In Kindness
