Yeah, those things on their desks are really PCs and they're running vista skinned to make it look like OSX. Keep telling yourself whatever you need to make Apple infallible.
Its the only explanation I can think up explain your post. Being a Mac user doesn't mean you have to follow the company line without question. You are allowed to have actual needs and requirements. For certain professionals in the image field, glossy screens fail to give them true color. I can't tell the difference, but then again I'm not in that arena so I'll defer to their judgement. These people own Mac Pro and Macbook Pros, not the PCs you and your type would like to believe to maintain your own beliefs. They probably spend more on a single purchase than Apple will get from you in your lifetime.

OK. It was a flip response to people I see as whining about nothing. Sorry.
Apple's changing. It's tough love with this company. Bottom line, they don't care what you think, which is sad I think.
This is called ARROGANCE in the industry. I hope big changes are around the corner with Jobs phasing off. Picture this (I am day dreaming...):
- Jonny Ives takes over as CEO, new theme "Creativity Unleased!".
- Tim Cook formally as COO.
- And who cares who the CTO is.
Jonny will give us what we wanted. MacBooks and AIRs with external PCie X8 docking stations (with powered external GPUs (for SNow leopard). Tons of SSD upgrades of various sizes (with a cost). Just offer those ... for AIR, MB, MBP. iMac, Mac-Minis.
LED 24 with all ports, DP, DVI, HDMI, no iSight, No speakers. Offer a special iSight2 HD Cam!.
LED 27 inch model with a MacMini docking bracket...
iTablet 7 inch model and 10 inch models.
iPhone Nano 8G, 12G. iPhone Pro 1Ghz CPU slightly bigger by 12% (with removable battery and full bluetooth implementation means wireless keyboard works, A2DP, and diskmode.
That would make 2009 a hell-of-a-year, post Jobs...

No, Ive will give you a metal sculpture with an atom inside if left unchecked. Ive is more an artist than a computer designer. The internal struggle has always been between his desire to create something more aesthetically pleasing and the engineers to fit something that actually works in increasingly smaller space. The later have been slowly losing the battle.
I thought this was going to be a huge pain, working in graphics and web design, but over time I found out it didn't bother or slow me down at all. I've still got a matte screen for my desktop computer but I don't mind having a glossy screen for my laptop. If I've eventually got to get a glossy screen for my desktop, I won't be losing any sleep over it.
Okay, first off, some of you are bashing Jobs pretty hard and want him gone. Did you forget that he brought Apple back from the brink of destruction? For that, shouldn't he get some respect?
As for the matte/glossy debate, it's not an issue for most of the creatives I know. Sure it would be nice to have an option but it's not a deal breaker. I'm a graphic designer. I talked to 3 of my colleagues who make a living doing graphic design (they are not wannabes, they have degrees). Two of them just bought new MBPs and the other is thinking about trading up. They all said it wasn't a big deal and one of them loves the new screen over the matte. If you have all that money tied up in software and rely on OS X on a daily basis, a glossy screen is not going to make you jump to a PC.

Me, think Apple is infallible? That's rich.
