He is so often almost completely unintelligible, at the very least.

It does seem like people are expecting too much from it. Though that is the sheer beauty of the iPhone, its almost complete electronic device replacement (if that makes any sense?) Just needs a camcorder mode, maybe a built-in HD projector

So many people asking for a flash; since when have photos taken with a flash not always looked horrible? I missed that. It needs to be much much better in low-light conditions, but I cannot see Apple ever adding a flash, aesthetically (photo quality and stuck on the back of the phone), practically (is a blurry, washed-out greenish image with no background worth it?), and of course in terms of battery-life. Flashes are bad-quality, and wasteful (like Flash!) in comparison to the alternatives (eg. a light). We need better quality cameras, better technology for low-light conditions, like our eyes, not a flash.

I see plenty of room for Apple to add, but what could they take out?

They could add a hardware compass, better cam with autofocus, faster cpu/gpu to record high quality video and voice dialing (which blackberrys do really well since the 8000), a louder speakerphone speaker, the iphone 3g is inaudible compared to BB.

The only stuff they could do do cut cost on the current phones is cut the GPS and wifi, or halve the flash - any of which is a minimal cost when compared to the custom chips and RF stuff that cant be removed and would eliminate the entire value proposition of the iphone.

However at another event perhaps a month later apple could unveil...wait for it THE IPHONE PRO. (Iphone 3,1)

I know it's a little out there in terms of actually happening but if you think about it, it goes together nicely with lots of the rumors. For example the whole "Iphone 3,1" thing operating under the 3.0 software. Also wasn't there a rumor about a 3.2 megapixel camera order with a 5.0 megapixel camera coming later on in the year? Hopefully it will go on the Iphone pro. Also this could be the family of iphones mentioned above and would be a nice way to welcome Steve back- by introducing a device nobody thought possible ( 64 gigs, 5 meg camera, 1Ghz processor, slide out keyboard or keyboard "attachement" to appeal to business/former blackberry users?)

Let me know what you think.

    I think you're new here.

As opposed to being old here, and having a ridiculously bloated sense of self importance? \

No, as in: "You're new here and haven't been a part of the hundreds, if not thousands of posts prior to your participation speculating on exactly this subject."

Also, having sent the original post from my iPod touch, I was unable to add the 'smiley' to the end of the sentence. So sue me.

This is a different meaning of seen, reasonably valid but I think it's an awkward one to use, and like most forms of headline grammar, I don't like it.

Really poor choice of words and you should have no doubt AI knew exactly what they were doing. Kasper, are you reading this?? I really hate shit like this.. If you have to resort to bait and switch tactics, you probably aren't creative enough to write a decent story.
