Does anyone know which processor Apple uses in the new 13" MaBook Pros? The 25w P9500, or the 35w T9400? Or neither of them? Although the 9500 is more expensive it would seem to offer the advantages of less heat (imagine, a laptop you could actually use on your lap), and longer battery life.
MacBook Pro "Core 2 Duo" 2.26 13" (SD/FW) (MB990LL/A) - 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo (P8400)
MacBook Pro "Core 2 Duo" 2.53 13" (SD/FW) (MB991LL/A) - 2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo (P8700)
BTW, I've been using and referring to the EveryMac site for years for good info and comparisons.
Also the MacTracker, which is an application program is another great ref (though I think MacTracker is not yet updated with the early June MBP models). http://mactracker.dreamhosters.com/

Apple will never tell you unless it?s a high-end machine like the Xserve or Mac Pro, and even then I wouldn?t count on it.
I often refer to Intel?s price list, which is updated monthly, but it often doesn?t show new processors that Apple and other use before they are made available to all.
If you have the current Mac or are at an Apple Store you can always install GeekBench, which will tell you the model number. It?s what I often use in lieu of CPU-Z if I am running Windows, though CPU-Z offers a lot more info.
MacTracker is always well behind on their updates. I?d think it would take no more than a day or two to get the updates in place, especially when they are just incremental.
I just bought a 2GHz MacBook in February, but I'm going to buy a new 13" MBP when 10.6 releases, if not sooner. The added features are worth it to me, and will allow me to gift the current machine to my sister and her family. My brother-in-law works for an auto supplier outside Detroit, so times are tough for them, and I bought the MB with money I inherited from my great aunt, so it seems like a good arrangement.
The new 13" MBP looks like a fantastic machine. My only quandary is whether to buy the 128GB SSD option, or spend a couple hundred extra on a 160GB Intel SSD aftermarket upgrade. I have an 80GB Intel SSD in my MB now, but was going to buy the Intel 160 for more space and move the 80GB to my Mac Pro as a system drive. Hmmmm...........

According to the Everymac site http://www.everymac.com/systems/appl...acbookpro.html, they use :

The Apple spec page of course does not tell you what CPU model number it uses.
