    Hi,

I was checking out info re iweb and found this great thread of conversation! I am a teacher and am interested in using iweb for my classroom website. Are there any teachers out there who could post their website for me to take a look at?

I have really enjoyed seeing the sites currently posted- so many talented people! Also the pros and cons to iweb have been helpful.

    Thanks

Just thought that I'd leave a link to my iWeb site. Just some poems etc. A hangover from my degree in English!

Here is my iWeb site. I made it for my Family, as a blog to show our distant family in California how life is where we live.

I made the pictures on the front page a link to the photo pages. I thought that was pretty nifty.

    Here it is

Heh... Mine is still a work in progress. Mostly because I'm not sure what direction to take it in... I'm not a photographer so sticking a random assortment of photos on my Homepage doesn't exactly appeal to me. I'm sure I'll think of something

I was new to the internt publishing till I find iWeb. I have many sites within the frame of iWeb but our latest is coinciding with a new product launch. This is a gutsy move as some of our content in our site is displayed jumbled by Internet Explorer. This is a limitation that people need to realize as they develop their sites past the confines of the templates.

I still love iWeb and we skirted the Internet Explorer issue with a warning first page. You can check out the site here...

iWeb has lots of opportunity and we are enjoying finding all of them. Our only complaint is a slower load up but we hope that the next issue of iWeb addresses that.

Feel free to ask any questions about the site for some tips and suggestions on your own site.

You know it never occurred to me how useful iWeb could truly be outside of .Mac homepages.

Getting started in Freelance. I have a simple website uploaded right now. I'm working on a new one now that I've realized that iweb can do so much more than I realized. I'll post it when I'm done. I enjoyed looking at the others.

How about using a good FTP client like Transmit to synchronize between your iWeb-exported folder and the contents on your web server. Transmit has an option to upload only changed or new files.

I took the one hour crash course in iweb at the Apple store. The only thing I don't like about it is I cannot use my existing .org domin, or can I? I asked this question to the kid that was instructing the class & he had no idea, he just said to get a .mac acoount.

    Anyone go any ideas?

You can, but Apple chose to make it a little harder than was necessary. Instead of offering direct synching, you have to export the web page and FTP it yourself to the site hosting your own domain.
