Hello all. Just a couple of points. #1: why are there so many people on these forums that dislike Apple. If you are happy with your PCs...leave us alone and quit posting here. I imagine that the majority of the people who come to this forum do so because they enjoy apple products, have found them extremely innovative and reliable, and a curious about what else is coming up. I am sure that, like me, they have no desire to read your posts about how you dislike Apple...you should probably find a different forum.
#2: Has anyone heard of any delays in the delivery dates of the preorded iPads? Website still says 4/3 for deliver, but UPS site still has product in China. Getting late in the game for the iPad to not have arrived in the continental US yet. Let me know if you have heard anything.
Shipping from China is incredibly fast. If you have ever tracked an Apple shipment from China, they normally make it to their destination 24 hours after they leave. For the midwest, UPS always ships through Anchorage then to your regional distribution center. It is normally quicker to get something from China then California for me with shipping not taking longer then two days. It is possible that they are shipping the iPads over here a jet full at a time, so we may not actually see something until the last second. You also need to be in an area that has Saturday delivery to get it on 4/3.

Like you are am waiting for the 3G version. You are right you will be kicking yourself later if you ran out and got one now when the 3G is going to be available later this month. A few weeks goes by fast.

It's good to have a diversity of opinions. After you've been awhile, you will discover who the trolls are. You can add the trolls to your ignore list or you can just ignore them altogether when they post.
When I received my MBP last year it didn't take that long when when I received shipping confirmation to its arrival. Check your email and track in on the UPS tracking site @ http://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.html.
As I recall, when I received shipping confirmation to receiving at the front door it took about 48 hours or less. Good luck--hope that you are in an area that has Saturday delivery

We have a couple of Apple bashing trolls that have taken on new personas as particularly grating fan boys, for reasons best know to themselves and their psychiatrists.
Quadra, on the other hand, is a long time Apple cheerleader who has elected to do the double reverse and come on like the former trolls.

Just think that if a poster thinks Apple products are just all around bad, offering no real constructive critisim, they should just keep that to themselves. That said, I can't wait to get the iPad in my hands Saturday. I am sure that it will not let me down, but if there are things that I think could be improved/changed, I would be sure to mention these specifics for the benefit of other that might be considering picking one up.

Thus you might hear the term "don't feed the trolls" basically don't respond if baited. The troll doesn't get his/her reward and the behavior isn't reinforced.
Trolls on Mac sites are common, they feel it's their civil duty to bring the Apple cult product users out of the "Reality Distortion Field" caused by Apple's rather effective marketing campaign, careful design of stores, icons and user interface generation that inflict a particular paralysis on logical thinking and cost considerations and gets users to impulse buy Apple's higher priced products.
Of course there are those who drink so much of the Apple "kool-aid" (Reverend Jim Jones reference here) that anyone who speaks objectively of Apple or their products in any way is labeled a troll.
There is a ignore feature in your User CP if there are those who you rather not pay any attention too.

It evolved from a fishing term: "trolling for suckers". You either are a troll or you're trolling. It can be a noun or a verb.
People who are trying to provoke a reaction from board members are trolling. Off topic comments and spam are sometimes considered trolling depending on if they were deliberately off topic. Rational debate on the current topic is generally not considered trolling. Irrational debate on the current topic would be trolling for the first reason.

You don't need to travel 350 miles to go to an Apple Store. They will ship Saturday delivery to you for free.
Saturday for free is only this weekend and those orders are over. After this if you want Saturday you will have to pay.
