there is exactly the problem. thank you for saying it for grover. it takes no thought!!! its too simple. movies that require no thought are not quality flicks. they are mindnumbing entertainment for the masses because the average viewer is an imbecile anyway...

dude, u contradicted yerself. first u said u didnt think, and now u say u did...
can u really tell me that more than a couple of the movies released are quality? most are made simply to make money. it doesnt matter if its a good flick, as long as a lot of people pay to see it. and since people keep paying to see them, more and more are being made...
my point was simply that most movies these days are very one-dimensional. yes, they are quite successful, and even somewhat entertaining, but still not quality. quality is the movies that is an overall wellmade movie with thought behind it with truly new concepts and ideas. this is the hardest part to find. there are no more original ideas out there...
this is why i embrace movies such as minority report, that create actual thought and reflection by the viewers, and a desire to see it multiple times to catch things u missed the first time. the concepts by philip k. dick are quite original and made for a very good movie.
i'm sorry if i offended you. i really dont care much about it, but it's just my opinion that the quality of movies coming out of hollywood are going down the shitter. i am a big movie fan, and it concerns me that a quality flick is becoming a rarity more and more everyday...
like i said, quantity at the expense of quality...
our society has such a pathetic attention span, they have to be constantly fed action and special effects. a dialog is now considered "boredom."</strong><hr></blockquote>
I don't know about you, but Bond has none of the qualities you seem to hold dear to your heart.
How could I mix Fast and the Furious up with TripleX? I mean, they use the exact same guy flexing the exact same muscles with the exact same shit music playing behind him while the exact same flashy cars fly around the screen.
Quite defensive of a 1.5 hour MTV video there Eugene, it's pablum and not even clever pablum. It doesn't even realize that it is the butt of it's own joke.
Entertaining, wow, what a ringing endorsement.
I am entertained by COPS, I don't think anyone is going to argue that gives it any real value.
If a movie uses Limp Bizkit music or whatever the hell that "Click click boom" song is to sell it, it loses.
It's odd that *every* movie has to fit a category to justify use of the word "trend".
Be sure and tell me how that Fast And The Furious TV show is going, I'm sure it will be super entertaining.

Compared to Bond? At least the girl was named Yelena and not Pussy Galore. And I didn't hear a single line like "I thought Christmas only comes once a year." And there's no horny Miss Moneypenny always saying naughty things. I could go on and on. What specifically do you remember about xXx that was a blatant sex *joke?* "Bitches come?" That was pretty much the only real one. The dialogue between Diesel and Argento was toned down much further than any Bond vs. Bond Girl dialogue.

It did seem logical that you were referring to Bond since:
1) xXx does not detract from other fantastic movies with witty dialogue, does it?
2) You responded to a reply in which I refer to Bond.
Don't be a doofus. There are plenty of movies with wit, comedy, drama, suspense and whatever else. Is it okay with you for a blockbuster action movie to come out during the summer? Don't be a hypocrite. A movie can be great even if it doesn't have a great dialogue. A movie can be a complete disappointment even if it has Michael Caine and Kristin Scott Thomas babbling on an on about cucumber sandwiches over a cup of Keenum Darjeeling.

A good show definitely. You haven't enlisted one good point that shows xXx is a lame movie. your only point is that it doesn't leverage dialogue. I would hate to be stuck in your ideal world.

read my posts again (or for the first time). i have made multiple points. one is the lack of dialogue. another is all action and no substance. another is lack of originality. any one of those is enough for me to write off a movie as being corny. yes, it could be entertaining, as ive said many times already, but that does not make a movie great, or even good...
you have your opinions, and i have mine. just let it drop, cause obviously you can't let it go that some people don't like simple (or whatever you wanna call it) movies...
ARGH! Are you people on the crack?? That movie was TERRIBLE as was "The Fast And The Furious." Is this the future of movies?? Movies made to make loads of cash?? This movie was trying to appeal to too many different audiences! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL! <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" /> <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />
First, dont bash people. Cant we all just get along?
My Review
There's other movies out there that are of better quality. See those first then see this one. Unless youre in the mood for a good action movie.
While xXx might not have been a great movie, it was a damned good action movie. Bourne Identity and Minority Report were better and more entertaining, however.
Basically it was a "go ahead and see it at the movies, definitely rent if you don't, but not worth buying unless youve rented it and loved it"
<strong>you have your opinions, and i have mine. just let it drop, cause obviously you can't let it go that some people don't like simple (or whatever you wanna call it) movies...</strong><hr></blockquote>
And that makes it a terrible movie, obviously. It's only enjoyable for people with 'short attention spans!'
wow, groverat said it best.. EVERYONE scroll up to groverats post now! This movie sucked, don't see it. Youll just be putting money in the pockets of a team of morons (monkeys?) who put this film together strictly for the green. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />
