I'm curious why people think the iPhone needs 1GB RAM simply because other devices need 1GB RAM or it's been the same for a whole year. The amount of RAM you need is not dependent on the competition or the Earth's revolution around the Sun, but upon requirements specific to an OS and its apps.
I've had absolutely no issues with my iPhone 4's 512MB RAM in iOS 4.0 through 5.0. I have more RAM available to the system than with any other iPhone that came before it so unless Apple has some RAM heavy additions coming in iOS 6.0 next year I have trouble believing that they will double the RAM based on the reasons in this thread.
With Safari on my Mac using upward of 600MB right now, usually peaking at 1GB, I think you need more RAM on the iPhone. Even 1GB is barely enough.
No, the experience. Hardware and software. Something you obviously don't understand.

No, I will not be disappointed. I just went to an ATT store and played with Samsung Infuse. The 4.5" super AMOLED+ screen is gorgeous, like nothing out there: I could not take my hands off it.
Were you looking at the screen inside the store, or outside? I hear people saying that AMOLED(+) screens are difficult to look at in day- or sunlight.
I work for a chip company based out of Southern CA. Apple is one of our customer. I know for a fact Apple purchased/ordered most of the iPhone components earlier this year.
Double tapping the home button and choosing the app to switch to both wear out my home button and takes too much time. I dont mind if the home button is still a physical button, but I want a way to quick switch apps like the iPad and the 4/5 finger gestures. I believe this will be done with a touch sensitive area near the home button in this generation of devices.
And....a software home button would be nice since the thumb force it takes over and over again are causing problems in my lower hands.....
BTW, clearly you've not actually seen the Samsung Super AMOLED screen with your own eyes. It's gorgeous.
I do admit that I've not held an iPhone and an AMOLED-based phone next to one another for a direct comparison, but I've seen an AMOLED. It looked nice–certainly better than my nearly 4.5 year old iPhone–but not as good as current iPhones and the iPad.
Do I want Apple to eventually move to AMOLED once the panels can be as good and last as long as LED-LCD? Maybe. Only if they use less power and the colors are correct.
Do I want Apple to leapfrog all OLED stuff and just go to QLED? Yes. VERY YES.

Weak thumbs, eh? Don't worry. Eventually Apple will implement those gestures from 4.3 (if anyone wants to correct me on when those gestures were put in, feel free. I've been using iOS 5 for so long, I've forgotten everything about 4).
Yes, those gestures. They are ABSOLUTELY, BAR NONE the way that iOS should be navigated. Pinch to go to the home screen. Swipe between open applications. Absolute magic.

Perhaps it's a feeling that in the future you might need more ram. After all, the iPhone apps are getting larger and ever more complex. I know that my iPhone 3gs can run an impressive amount of programs (multitasking) and can exhaust the battery (while plugged in) before it runs out of ram. On the other hand I have run out of ram while running one application (streaming audio).
No, the experience. Hardware and software. Something you obviously don't understand.

Well 4.5 inches is a tad big IMO I wouldn't exactly call it a bad thing. The experience using a larger screened "phone" is something you'd have to experience for yourself. I myself would probably not go above 4.3 inches...the 4in G2X i have now is fine though.

Apple do a great job releasing what they do. I was astounded by the Retina display when it first came out. This year, that Sammy screen to me is a stand out leader.

Tallest Skill, both those issues were addressed with Super Amoled Plus.
Just to keep things honest, this statement is not actually true.
AMOLED panels, even 'super' and 'plus' and super-plus-maximal, are not as bright in direct sunlight as the panels Apple uses, they don't last as long, they don't have the same viewing angles, nor do they have as accurate colour reproduction.
They have a superior contrast, and over saturated colours that make them "pop," and super AMOLED is a real improvement, but it's just not accurate to say they are the equivalent of the panels Apple uses, which are better.
No, the experience. Hardware and software. Something you obviously don't understand.

Which part was incorrect, the colors aren't more accurate or the power draw isn't less with Super Amoled Plus displays vs. the older Super Amoled used on the original Galaxy S and others? I don't think I made any claim comparing the iPhone display quality to the Super Amoled Plus displays, tho that essentially comes down to a personal preference when all is said and done. The two things I did claim, color improvements and reduced power requirements, were correct afaik.
There's an objective comparison of the various screen qualities here:
EDIT: Since the soon-to-release iPhone5 is just around the corner, it will likely draw comparison to the Galaxy SII released back in February. Anantech has a pretty straightforward review out today. It's apparently not the flawed device some here may think it is.
BTW, clearly you've not actually seen the Samsung Super AMOLED screen with your own eyes. It's gorgeous.
Subjective, not objective.
HDTV makers have found that people who walk into a Best Buy or Costco judge TVs with brighter colors and screens to be "better" subjectively, so they have a demo mode that basically jacks up the brightness and color saturation for the showroom floor to unnatural levels so your competitors' TV will look duller, even though they may have more accurate color reproduction. The Samsung AMOLED phone screens have always struck me as "gorgeous" in the same sense: because they are overly saturated and contrasty. And don't get me started on pen tile.
