Oh Jeez that misleading composite again?

What about the Samsung SGH-F700 model conveniently "ignored" on that cherry-picked composite image? Presented at Cebit 2006, "patent" design filed in december 2006... These design claims are really becoming pathetic, and remain dishonest.

Perhaps, but I saw at least two people in a Best Buy refer to a Samsung phone as an iPhone.

    Case closed.

When I bought my partner her Samsung tablet, the BB clerk told me they were the same. I left and bought it online.

It is not Hearsay if a Best Buy official testifies as to its return records. When you return something at Best Buy, Best Buy asks the customer why he or she is returning it.

I am not sure if this relates to the discussion but I know an AT&T store rep who is an apple hater strictly because she does not make a large commission on IPhone sales so she tells her customers to buy Samsung products and touts their similar look and features to the iphone. Obviously that makes her customer service skills questionable. But it does make you wonder how many people are actually being told that the samsung phones and/or tabs are the same as or at the very least equal in features to an Iphone

Well...if they had a lick of sense, then yes!

(You didn't think they'd know how to buy them on-line, didja???)
Actually they did it for the Reward Zone points, enough points and they can score a free iTunes card!

This is so very funny and sad too. So, now I know who bought a bunch of Apple's products: a bunch of illiterates.

I am scared of the US as a country. Guns are everywhere, with the last statistics shows there was 90 guns for every 100 people. The money spent on guns and ammunitions should be better spent to teach Americans how to read, and perhaps, teach Americans about the world geography.
Don't be scared, we really do believe in gun control. Of course by "gun control", I mean hitting what you were aiming for.

I was going to say who could be dumb enough to buy a samsung tablet thinking its an iPad, but after 2 weeks in Disney seeing how people can be, anything can happen really.
It is a small world after all.

People who believe that Samsung did not set out to deceive customers and were often successful in that deception are people I find truly scary. When something is THIS obvious I feel that any disagreements suggest we are just not part of the same species anymore, that that brain is just not functioning the way a brain is meant to. Paid shills I can understand — but not these Android nuts.

And enough with this crazy idea that anyone who was deceived is an idiot. iPads were and are ideal presents for children and teenagers because they are light and portable, so OF COURSE they were bought by non-tech savvy grandparents and soccer moms at the Mall store who were capable of being swayed by a salesperson who told them, "no this is an iPad, it is just one made by Samsung. And trust me it is soo much better!" FFS this is as obvious as anything can be.

I'll be returning my Volkswagen next week. I thought it was a Mercedes, until I saw the logo ON THE STEERING WHEEL...

I have people come up to me at product launches, complaining about how they used the product years ago and it was crap. I try to stress that given that it is a product launch, they must be mistaking it with another product. They still insist that they are right as they storm off.

I wonder how many of the returnees are still trying to figure out how to exit the shop.

Well, back in the days, like you say it, neither the first iPhone in aluminium nor the second (3G) and third (3GS) one looked anything like that Sony device.

Please. Just. Stop. With. The. Lies. Already!

FACT: With the exception of both being boxes, ANYONE who could/would declare that the the boxes containing the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9/10.1 looks "just like iPad boxes" is either woefully uninformed or just blatantly lying.

    700

Or maybe it's the Apple hating trolls who are lying.

That Samsung box in the picture is not the one they used when they launched the Tab.

I would guess most ipads are bought by users themselves and not as gifts.

Yea same as those who bought the Kindle Fire. I wonder how many were returned.

NO THEY DIDN'T. NO ONE WOULD CONFUSE A SAMSUNG TABLET FOR AN IPAD. THIS IS A CROCK. APPLE IS SUING BECAUSE THEY WANT A MONOPOLY. INNOVATE, DON'T LITIGATE, APPLE.

They would if Best Buy told them too.

I'm sure Best Buy sales practices are getting THEIR butts in a sling with Apple as well. They don't have mo ey to stick up for Samsung!

Something this stupid deserves a comment.

Did you not read the article? These are Samsung's own internal documents that talk about Best Buy returns. It's not Apple "making stuff up" as you seem to imply.

Why should Apple produce the customers? They had nothing to do with it as it's something between Best Buy, the customer and Samsung. Apple just happend to find out about it during evidence discovery.

I'd love it of one of the outcomes of this case is that Samsung be required to take back any products purchased by customers who were misled into believing they were buying an Apple product. Watch the flood gates open...
