The fingerprint thing it's a good thing, but if it comes without NFC it's half baked and almost useless. It's still a good innovation but... too little and too late.

I not concern with the iPhone 5S or even the 6! Purchase another state of the art phone in the mean time. Why is Samsung and HTC not having troubles like Apple has. Been a loyal Apple buyer but no longer! They seem to be loosing ground!
It's just not reported when they have troubles, which they surely have, because as signaled by the smash and grab thief who stole a bunch of iPhones and got caught having left his Samsung behind: no one cares about Sam or HTC. Reporting is about the important.

NFC strikes me as similar to LTE: until there's sufficient places to use the thing why bother burdening your device with a useless bit of toy? NFC might become a common utility or it may not (with optical scanning being more secure etc.).
If the 5S is using the same LCD as the 5 I don't see why there would be LCD driver issues, if there are then I think its because the 5S is moving to an IGZO display instead - here's hoping!
Of course, because Apple doesn't have any experience shipping devices with displays and such. This is all totally new to them and they don't know how to figure things out so everything will be delayed.

IGZO, and the accompanying battery life extension, would tempt me.
If Apple is in fact making a phone with a fingerprint sensor, I hope they'll make sure it's flawless before releasing it. That is the kind of tech that you want to be rock solid and not fiddly at all.

Fixed it for ya....
I think you mean "less than expected," unless the iPhone 5S will revert to a 3.5" screen.

Making plastic toys is much different than the level of fit and finish an iPhone brings.

I'm not sure why either is needed.
The choice is simple...Skoda or Mercedes. Choose your price point and enjoy the quality that comes with it.

That's not how handheld computers worked on Star Trek. Honestly.
