Musicians??
I see some people with musical interest here (Amorph=Bass ?) What are your musical interests? Perhaps we may join in an "AI internet jam recording session"
I'm a guitar player, so post your instrument and lets make some music.

What kind of music do you all play/listen?
I'm more of a rock player myself, but I also love jazz, classical and blues. As for listening, I can tolerate almost anything
We could do something like "We are the World" by AI community artists. Any ideas?
I can also muddle my way through (and make a decent noise) on mandolin, Dobro and piano.
Mostly a rock-and-roll kinda guy, but I also love bluegrass, pure traditional country (none of this Top 40 "Hot New Country!" bullcrap), alt-country/Americana/roots, flamenco, jump blues, swing, blues, Irish music.
Anything with some heart and a backbone, I guess.
play the drums
and started bagpipe lessons about a month and a half ago... going well.
To me, that's the most beautiful, haunting and stirring sound EVER.
It looks so tough to play...so much going on, like an accordian or something.
You got your fingers going, mouth blowing on the stem and you're working that little pouch, etc.
Bagpipes are one of those instruments, like the violin, that can be the WORST sounding thing in the entire universe if it's in the wrong hands. But played by someone who knows what they're doing, it's simply captivating and beaufiful.
Not too much room for error on the bagpipes, I suspect.
About 10 years ago, during the height of my bluegrass phase, I tried to do the fiddle thing. Holy crap...what an ungodly racket I made! I just stuck to guitar and mandolin, figuring I could do less damage that way.
My pride and joy (a Gibson J-45 that I bought just outside of Nashville four years ago...I play it CONSTANTLY and it sounds soooooo good! Best money I ever spent...):
That's Porkchop at the bottom...my buddy. 13 years old and Mr. Personality himself.

Here are my babies:
JEM555BK w/Edge tremolo ( changed the crappy lo-TRS) great tones.
Taylor 512, the sweetest sounding acoustic on the planet.
A buddy of mine has a Taylor. It's the small audiorium folk-size body (something like that...it's a bit smaller and more rounded than the standard full-size dreadnaught).
She LOVES it and it sounds really good. I hear nothing but good things about Taylor guitars!
And they have a pretty impressive list of artist who play them, so they're obviously doing it right!
They're right here in town, too. I should see if they offer factory tours.
I toured the Gibson electric factory in Nashville years ago and that was one of the coolest things ever! Amazing to see hundreds of bare-wooded Les Pauls and SGs hanging from the ceiling, awaiting finish/paint!
Gibson recently moved their acoustic operations there too (from Bozeman, Montana), so I'd like to check that out someday, if I'm ever back there.
Got inspired this morning after posting in this thread. Seems we have alot of talent in these forums For the first time in 6 months I booted into OS 9.2 to record in ProTools (OS 9 sucks, it crashed on me 3 times, a thing of the past since OS X) I recorded a whole song today (except for guitar solo). Anyone interested in adding to this song, let me know so that I can email you the MP3 file.

I don't want to ruin it by adding my amazing work, but I would like to hear it.
Lots of Mac users in the e-music community! 90% of my friends who are musicians, engineers or label owners, use Macs.
I'm an electronic musician (synthesizers, samplers, other digital processing, etc.) ...

Same here - although I started on classical piano (been playing for over twenty years - oh my God!! ... so my chops are pretty solid.)
Mainly into rock/pop/electronic ensemble stuff. Have played in numerous rock bands and am currently involved in pit bands for musicals occasionally. I'm now trying to get into digital recording and providing resources for music educators in Australia.
Best purchase I made this year was definitely a Yamaha acoustic piano with MIDI capabilities!!! The ultimate keyboard/piano action controller.
(If I ever learn how to post a photo on these computers at work - I'll do so.)
Fave synths: JD990 (programmer's dream IMHO) and Nord lead.

Bye the way nice guitar Pscates.
Strider
If you don't mind a 2MB email, I'll send it to you (and enyone else). And, if you want to add/ruin with your amazing work, you're more than welcome.
I'm curious to see how it might end up with other instruments and ideas.
