The negative press on Apple is incredible! They were criticized for having so much cash and not returning it back to investors. Then they were punished for losing marketshare due to expensive phones. Next they are ridiculed for releasing cheap phones made of plastic. Then there was an uproar on financial engineering to boost stock price. I think shortly thereafter they were criticized for not taking chances and making big purchases like Facebook and google. So today there is an uproar because they spent 3 weeks worth of earnings to buy beats headphones. It's funny to hear people say that apple has tarnished their brand by associating with beats when they have been selling the beats headphones online and in their stores for a while now. They have 160 billion and will make another 10 this quarter. Why are people outraged over this?? We have seen celebrities, athletes, musicians showcase those headphones for years and I have never heard the media attack the brand until Apple got involved. I don't know who they have crossed but this company is public enemy number one!
Half of Beats might be the wrong kind of dark (the Fast and the Furious type), all the boards are lit up across the internet Tim Cook can't get the benefit of the doubt even though he is one of the best CEO's in the world right now.
Just downloaded the MOG and Beats software has anyone used it? Also using Logic, Soundtrack or Vox the original software the playback quality on a Mac was is far beyond the iTunes playback, in part because of virtual sound effects available, with all the new audiophiles coming out of the woodwork because of Beats, why isn't anyone interested about the lack of virtual sound effects/instruments in iTunes playback. This lack of sound quality seems to be more critical when using iTunes at the desktop.

Audio software like Reason, Logic Pro, MOTU and Vox (beta version), come with sound compressors, EQ, reverb, THX, Dolby surround sound (ie..concert hall), and various other sound manipulators which can be saved and applied any audio sound. Virtual sound effects replace in software what was once a hardware unit in a rack in a sound studio.

Yes, so you are referring to a graphic equalizer, something I suspected but it was unclear due to word choice.
As a blow to the fad that these garbage products are%u2026 I hope Apple removes the "Beats" name from the whole product lineup. That would be highly unlikely though. Beats = Marketing hype and nothing more. Preying on the ignorance of children in ways similar to the tobacco industry back in the 60s, 70's and 80's
Forget where I read this yesterday ... something on affordable luxuries generally. Got me wondering Is Cook recommissioning Apple from "computers for the rest of us" to "the best in tech for the rest of us"?
The first mission statement has held up for thirty years. Altho' Apple dropped the word computers from its name years ago, its mainstay products are still computers ... traditional computers, with storage, processors, and screens.
New tech might not have storage, processors, or screens. Just sensors (nearables) connected to servers (farables) through hubs (hubbles), that is, phones and tablets.
The corollary would be "the best in tech for the rest of us ... us including China." Sounds like China is a big part of Apple-think these days.
Not cheap tech. It's about great tech. The best tech ... for the rest. The purveyors of cheap tech did not and never would create the iPhone, the Mac, or the iPad. Cheap is a good thing too. But cheap doesn't get you great, whereas as great engenders cheap.
Ah. Here's what's in my gut: As we watch the world shift toward inequality and as the wealthy run the show more and more, great, simple, useful, and affordable tech is kinda subversive, yes? The iPhone proves that great does good all around.
Right? You're not even in the right conversation. If you have something of substance to say, then say it. If not, then get back to reading Dr. Seuss or whever you're doing between cartoons.

" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" /> Nothing more can be said; nothing more needs said. You don’t have a clue what you’re on about and are desperately trying to scramble to cover it up.

Got a thing against cats in hats? How bigoted and hat in catist.
Going back to QuickTime in 1991, Apple has been on the front lines of audio technology. Nobody knows more about it.
Yeah, Apple's got the digital/codec side figured out (maybe not on all platforms though). Buying Beats may well get them the talent to develop some of the best hardware too, but Beats just haven't demonstrated that knack to this point.

I used MOG before it was shut down, it had better sound quality than Pandora and a better user interface than iTunes radio.

Wait, I thought we were talking about Beats. Like the headphones?
Dunno a thing about Beats. Depends on what Apple does with Beats, doesn't it?

Sure. Maybe the idea is to start with a successful brand, and engineer the best tech into it, but this seems like an expensive way to start R&D.
They should probably buy Monster Cable while they're at it. The Lightning cables would fit right in.

Why not just say outright that you don’t understand what you’re talking about?
