1.) did anyone check Apple's server for the next day

example: replace yesterday's number with today's and see if it came up?

2.) if this did leak I'm sure the person who leaked it will be fired or at least caught. I mean how many people could have access to this.

    Drat.

I -always- discount this stuff then it always comes true. At least I can go to sleep now full in the knowledge that Apple's coming out with a tricorder.

    Live long and prosper.

the problem applenut is that the images arent listed by a number according to how many days left, but rather they are named by their slogan. So unless you know the slogun it would be pretty hard to figure out the next slogan.

I tried something like that yesterday, but they don't seem to be numbered in sequence:

Spymac's specs on the other hand are a whole different thing. The color ibooks were posted on rumor sites earlier before they did, the specs on the imacs and part numbers were posted onto AI days before they did. OS X.2 is not shipping till March, Shiller already told the WSJ that. The top of the line iMac's product number is the exact same one as OS X.

did not realize that. thank you. so it was definitely someone on the inside.

It is obvious that they were simply TOLD the slogan, and made the image in photoshop.. The one from Apple is of course a different size, but is also wider, etc. If you look at the info, you will find that the one from spymac was created at 1:12AM on the 5th.. But Apple.com's image was made on Friday (the fourth) at 4:40PM... This would suggest that they definately did not hack apple.com, rather the may have gotten the information from their source last minute.... Either way, this will help Spymac's repoir...

    spymac

    Apple

If it means anything, it looks like spymac got the text, not the image, and made a mock-up because those don't look anything alike.

[quote]However, don't give SpyMac too much credibility!! The image next numerically always gives Apple's 404 page. They probably just put the image in the right location a little early before updating the actualy html. SpyMac may have just checked it at the right time and gotten lucky.

But the URL to the phrase is http://a772.g.akamai.net/.../mwsf02_fullspeedahead.gif so it'd have to be a damn good guess to predict it ahead of time.

well you may edit yours away, but i'll leave mine up

The message I'm getting, that makes me a little worried, is that all this hype is for one thing. An LCD iMac. <sigh>

    Hmmmmmm......

Maybe it should be "Lust Factor X", no?

I think Apple means that OS X will now go where it has never gone: portable.

    My translation of the slogan:

"It's going to be fast, and you WILL want one."

i don't know... there seems to be a preoccupation with speed in these messages.

good point... why isn't it "Lust factor X"?

Jobs did say he wanted all Macs at least at 1Ghz by this year, hence all the speed references. Not that 1 Ghz is some place "no PC has gone before."

Speed is a big issue with them, Which is why the global broadband idea is still viable.

If it WAS the broadband, tommorow's slogan should be "It will NEVER be 56 days to macworld again."
