Well. Here's the formula. The actual length of life that his machines last is about 1/12 of the length he mention

Like when he says it will last for a year it only last for a month or maybe less.

Last time he said the 800Mhz G4 will last until next Spring. And it ended up gone in 1 months and a few days

I bet he will be saying "This machine is good enough for me need and it will be on my desk until fall"

That translates to ------- This machine will be on my desk for only a few weeks

EmAn. You said I am catching up right? I am far from it

Well, I figured I'd bite and post my set-up:

The only difference now is that the trackball has been replaced by a Kensington PocketMouse Pro (cuz I got tired of cleaning the dirt out of the trackball). And hopefully the iMac will be replaced with a Powerbook whenever a revision happens.

Hey! Your desk actually looks good under that iMac! I'll be damned. You had a G4 iMac desk all along. No wonder you had to replace your "old" PowerMac.

[edit: forgot the quotes around "old"]

I would post a picture of my machine if I could figure out of to plug my digital camera into my Zenith 286. Very frustrating.

Didn't mention - this is the 800 MHz SuperDrive model with 512 MB of RAM.

Damn this thing is sweet. Lots of play in the display though - twists a little too easily I think. Oh well, having some RAM installed in the inner slot tomorrow, I'll have the guys check it out. Putting a 512 MB stick in that inner slot, which will give me 768 MB total. (now have a 256 MB full size chip to sell...)

I got this for $2799 CDN. Got a deal on it when it was at the old price, so it ends up being $250 less than current retail. Can't complain there...

Anyway, I'm hard at "work" tonight re-ripping a lot of my CDs. I'm going for quality this time around and doing everything at 320 kbps. I'm averaging 10-12x, which is higher than I thought I'd be getting. I'm impressed.

So here's the up-to-the-minute new setup pic:
