You seem overjoyed. Understandable, since I'm sure you were beginning to question your prowess as a keen observer, being almost alone here in your bent fetish. What happened to your only pal pazuzu, by the way?

I think there was a lover's spat involved. :smokey:

So my iPhone 6 Plus doesn’t count as a iPhone that I own? Interesting

I have a small issue with my new iPad Air 2!

I'm wondering if it is related to this iPhone issue.

I'll probably take my iPad into the Apple store eventually and maybe get a new one.

I have the 128 GB model, I've had it since day one.

I've noticed that it has rebooted on me at least twice now in the time period that I've had it.

It's not because I have too many apps, because I still have about 94 GB worth of free space on my device.

I wouldn't say that two random reboots in the time period that I've owned it is a big problem, but nonetheless, I want a perfect unit, so maybe next week I'll pay a little visit to the Apple store.

I started buying Apple in 2006 when they were at $74/share.  Now they are equivalent to what, $763/share? Yeah this guy has no idea what he's talking about.  First, bending is not a widespread problem. Second, Apple takes care of their users and this is well within the warranty period. Third, this memory "issue" is rumored and I haven't heard of any widespread issue (please see the second comment if it is).  Fourth, Apple Pay rollout is not "bumpy"... it became the single largest payment service outside of regular credit cards within days. It's only bumpy because of dumb retailers that are in bed with some STD-laden MCX abomination.  I just used Apple Pay at BJ's and it was freaking sweet.

yes bending and bad memory on 6 plus,
There is much speculation about the flash problem but I've yet spot Apple highlight what the actual problem is. It could be the flash controller, thus an Apple problem or it could be a problem with the actual flash chip thus a supplier problem. Either way this is not unusual for a newly launched product.
recently discovered Apple Bot, os x/ios WireLurker virus,
And Apple is responsible for hackers hacking their system software?
bumpy launch of the apple pay...
With respect to this you are grossly out of touch with what is involved in a launch like Apple Pay. Every thing I see indicates rapid acceptance by a very wide array of institutions. In a nut shell Apple Pay has been more useful out of the box than anything that has come before it.
Are you guys still buying and holding AAPL?? The dividend is also peanuts. Cue and others just sold their stock I believe it was yesterday, right ahead of the highly anticipated dividend pay:)))
The other way to look at this is that they are spending way too much on the dividend. That dividend would pay for a lot of R&D.
The novelty of the smart phone that propelled AAPL at an amazing pace is gone since 2011/2012.

Of course it is. Apple successfully cornered the market and continues to be the preferred solution for smart phones. The novelty is gone because they are firmly established as the preferred brand.

I did some quick research and it appears that the iPhone 6+ and iPad Air 2 uses almost identical Nand, though I'm not sure what the small difference at the end is.

This is from the iPhone 6+ ifixit teardown:

SK Hynix H2JTDG8UD1BMS 128 Gb (16 GB) NAND Flash

This is from the iPad Air 2 ifixit teardown:

    • SK Hynix H2JTDG8UD1BMR 128 Gb (16 GB) NAND Flash

The only difference appears to be at the end, BMS for the iPhone VS BMR for the iPad.

I also just read on another forum that somebody else with a 128 GB iPad Air 2 has the same problems also, so this is not just an iPhone problem.

If the next software update doesn't fix it, then I will get my hardware replaced.

I think you are the only person that is actually talking about the article.

From what you are saying it appears that this is an actual problem.

Yes, I figured that arguing with Fandroid trolls is not a productive usage of my time.<img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

I do have a bunch of "JetsamEvents" (crashes I am assuming) in my diagnostics pane, so I guess that I will just take it into Apple and see what they say next week perhaps.

The domain is 9-to-5-mac-com. Apparently AppleInsider prefers you not be properly informed by their competitors.

The easy way to bypass this issue is to replace one of the characters in domain name with a unicode character.

I think replacing the period before com works best because it retains are the letters and numbers. To make this easy I have created a keyboard shortcut in iOS/OS X that does this for me.

If you want a phone that constantly reboots and bends in your pocket, get the Plus!

Constantly reboots -and- bends in your pocket? Constantly? You sound like those people that complained about the iPhone 4 never being able to make a call for 3.25 years simply being touched. WTH happened to you?

    sog35 wrote: »
Of course there are risks of getting the non-S generation phone.

There are no more risks with the npn-S-generation than with the S-generation. The only think that seems to remain constant is the general look and external dimensions, which is probably done for case makers. The internals are all changed up. Even the mount points for the logic board are different. In fact, it's easier to argue that it could be more difficult for Apple to make the S-generation because they work within the confines of the previous generation's dimensions, whereas the non-S-generation has the potential freedom of having the external design change to meet the needs of the internals.

It's probably the same NAND, or whatever other component is causing the issue. Perhaps they can resolve it with an iOS update, but 8.1.1 doesn't do it or it gets too annoying I would take it. You might be helped by getting less of a runaround if you write down every time it's done a reboot, and what you were doing at the time.
