i took apart my first new iMac tonight to replace the RAM on the MB. it was really easy, i'm surprised they don't want you doing it youself. i was also surprised to see that it used two different chips. that's unique.

if anyone wants, i can post pics of the guts. it was kinda cool.

Well, pick me out something nice then. Tell me what I should get.

I can't (and won't) spend $3,000 on some high-tech Herman Miller shit, so don't waste my time suggesting it.

Wait a minute...why do you even care? It's a DESK. It suits my needs.

I think it's pretty nice. Room for everything, multilevel sections, sturdy, portable, affordable ($99), easy to assemble, holds all my stuff, etc.

But keeping it reasonable, show me some other options so I can see what you have in mind.

Actually, I need to post a new pic. I've cleaned it up, tucked away all those nasty cables, put the iSub down below, moved my cable modem where the Zip is, put the Zip down below that little shelf, dumped a bunch of CDs, dusted the thing, etc.

In general, it looks WAY better and cleaner than these pictures.

I know the desk is still not to Strangelove's liking, but overall the set-up is MUCH nicer and cleaner.

Looks great. I'll snap a pic tonight if I can.

That's what I'm talking about! I cleaned it all up really good from when the above photos were taken (last week). Hid cables, dusted, got rid of clutter, etc.

    No dust at all...it's gorgeous!

I take full credit for Paul's new found love of clean desks.

    Thank you.

And Strangelove, take a hike man.

"You have such bad taste! Oh, but don't be offended."

Guess you're just better than the rest of us.

    Steve Earle?

Spart, do you mean that orange one of mine? If so, I found it at macdesktops.com.

Do a search for "disco flash" and you'll see it. I only saw that one color thought (orange).

Damn guys...I'm on my iMac right now and it's just so SWEET! I love it...everything about it!

Just a perfect, kick-ass machine. What can I say?

*note* sarcasm is really hard to detect in writing unless it's done very cafefully, or extremely obviously.

hence people have started using [sarcasm] [/sarcasm] tags.

    not a bad idea really.
