My MacBook Pro is blanking out once every day since the past few years and looks like finally it has decided to keep giving a pink screen and blank out. Guess Apple need to recall and replace the MBP's having this chronic problem.

More than being a pain the failures is eroding my confidence, faith and respect for apple as a reliable product and brand in whole.

re: The questions raised "Why did people wait so long?"

I have one of these models and it worked without a hitch. Until yesterday 1-27-2015. Then "bang" All the cited systems. Fortunately, I have a little backup computer or I'd be s.o.l.

Apple is now repairing or replacing all effected units free of charge, and issuing refunds to people who have paid for repairs.

Mine just died for the 5th time! While Apple said the last time in 2016 "we have fixed the GPU problem with this new logic board"..... So I bought a almost 3k computer for my work and this new "fixed" board lasted 3 years while I used a cooling pad since. Apple advertised "The Most Powerful" blabla and the best they can do is laptop that last 3 years? None of the repair lasted more than 3 years. I'm living in the UK and i know the customers rights are extending warranties far after 2 years - to a reasonable period of time reflecting the goods we re buying and the price paid. Does anyone know how to get help on this matter? Apple made us wait weeks for appointments (so they can look at their own mess), many times, made us lost many jobs as they never communicated with us about the issue, they always tried hide their fault, and they went in lawsuit in the US... I personally lost weeks doing "sittings" in Apple store until they "repair" my computer with the same shitty board - Apple knew the board will fail again -. It really affected me psychologically, being mocked by the Apple care operator who told to me "after 2 repairs in 2014, your computer isn't under warranty, so buy a new Mac you're not rich enough, etc..." to the numerous mental fights with the Apple store staffs.... All I always asked to Apple since the 2nd repair is a replacement programme for a descent, not necessarily recent, MacBook Pro - but with no known problems of any sort - they never accepted. Is there a case? I'm talking about planned obscolescence. Thank you
