Latest Apple ad uses Brazil's Carnival to highlight iPhone 7 Plus camera

Apple on Tuesday released a video ad promoting the iPhone 7 Plus in Brazil, linking it to the start of the country's annual Carnival season.

The minute-thirty commercial is an elaborate stop-motion piece, featuring dancing Carnival-goers and musicians in many different costumes. Notably it was created with help of the 7 Plus, specifically over 500 photos making use of the phone's Portrait mode that separates subjects from the background via simulated bokeh.

As a cross-promotion, the ad takes its name from a featured song called "Eu Quero ... Botar Meu Bloco na Rua" by BaianaSystem, which is currently an Apple Music exclusive. The band briefly appears in the video.

The iPhone 7 Plus is an extremely expensive product in Brazil, starting at about $1,314. For people who can afford to travel to the U.S. for a shopping trip, it's likely cheaper to pick up an unlocked model there.

Globally, however, the 7 Plus has proven a successful device, claiming a higher percentage of iPhone sales than previous Plus models. Unlike the regular iPhone 7, the 7 Plus has a dual-lens camera, which not only enables Portrait mode but 2x optical zoom.

Apple recently aired two new U.S. TV ads for the phone, once again focusing on Portrait shooting.

I watched that three times.  Very engaging and dynamic commercial.  One of the best Of Apple's recent adverts, I think.
