Apple is giving movie lovers in the United States an easy way to expand their digital film collections, by launching a new 'Double Features' sale in the iTunes Store that offers two related films together in a bundle for $9.99.

The Double Features for $9.99 sale consists of 23 pairs of films that share some sort of connection. In the majority of the pairings offered in the sale, the movies offered are in the same franchise, with the original movie accompanied by the sequel.

Sequel-based bundles on the list include films from the "28 Days Later," "Transporter," "The Raid," "Grown Ups," "Adams Family," Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," "Sin City," and other franchises.

Some movies are collected together because they share similar themes and stars, such as the Will Ferrell-starring "The Other Guys" and "Step Brothers." This also includes the horror films "Sleepy Hollow" and "Sweeney Todd" directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp, the combination of "Scarface" and "Casino," and the "Mean Girls" and "Clueless" pairing.

Two of the offers gives viewers a chance to compare original versions of a film with a modern remake, with the "Annie" double pack containing the 1982 and 2014 releases, as well as the "Arthur" bundle offering both the 1981 original and the Russell Brand-fronted 2011 remake.

The Double Features offer is currently only available in the U.S. version of the iTunes Store, and with no indication if it is a permanent or a time-limited offer on the store page itself.

Link keeps trying to taking me through Apple Music, is that a prerequisite for the deal?

Annoying that these iTunes Store deals are never available in the UK as well.

If you’re a fan of the original Arthur with Dudley Moore you couldn’t pay someone, let alone ask for them, to purchase the Russell Brandt remake.

Pretty dreadful selection in my opinion, but the concept is good.

Well that was never going to be good. He’s okay in small doses, but a whole movie…?

There are some bundles available here as well. The Harry Potter collection, a Christopher Nolan collection including the films from Batman Begins to Interstellar and a couple of others.

I would have been tempted if I didn't own all Nolan's films already and if the Harry Potter collection wasn't available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
