Perhaps a tariff on all goods imported from Indonesian equivalent to Apple's investment will change their mind. I would also suggest such a tariff on all good imported from EU countries should they continue their planned punitive actions against Apple equalling a 10% tax on Apple's global sales. Hit them where it hurst the most then sit back and listen to the screaming from their manufacturers.

Let's be clear on a few thing: you don't need a repairman to replace a laptop battery...it's a 5 minute job. You can buy in the open market (Amazon) scores of batteries manufactured by numerous suppliers for laptops that are long since declared vintage by Apple. They will NOT have a faux Apple label on them. They are plainly described as 3rd party batteries. He bought batteries that he was obviously trying to push off on his customers as genuine Apple parts. He's committing a fraud and deserves what he gets. If he had sold a fake Apple battery to an undercover agent he could get jail time.Apple's repair policies need a thorough review, and the genius bar employees seem more interested in selling you a new piece of equipment than they are in repairing at a fair price. That said, this is a case of intended fraud. He got caught...many don't.October 2018
