Other than the Mac Pro, Apple may be done with hardware releases for 2019

AppleExposed said: Yes Arcade works but the graphics and performance are dated. I'd like some better graphics and future proofing. In my opinion, one of Apples mistakes was mandating the support of iPhone 6s (A9?) hardware. Consoles leave Arcade in the dust!
The ATV HD uses an A8, so I think that's the baseline...but the more sophisticated graphic games will scale the detail levels and effects to the hardware being used. iOS games and Apple Arcade games are more like PC titles in that respect. It's a given that they'll have to run on a wide range of hardware and GPU capability, so things like geometry, textures, and lighting get more sophisticated on more powerful versions of the A series.

BTO pricing for MP7,1 is something Apple needs to release soon if they want to be successful with their (attempted) re-focus on the professional market.  Businesses plan costs in advance and many need financing pre-approvals for these types of purchases.  I know several that want to get the purchase in well before their mid-November spending freezes hit.  Larger corporate operations are already working on budgets for Q2/Q3 2020.  We're talking about workstations that start at $6K and easily climb to $10K+ if you're hoping they also pickup the new monitor.

Apple Business reps are still not informed about pricing, leasing, or even estimated fairytale costs for this workstation.  Reaching out to them and you're hearing crickets.  One tried to sell the MacBook Air as an alternative available now.  None of those reps have proactively reached out to myself or colleagues (the actual customers with purchase authority).  Unfortunately, it really seems like Apple is missing the mark here and it is starting to smell way too much like a repeat of their 2011-2018 professional strategy (or lack thereof).  And I'm someone who is excited by and WANTS to buy/recommend this machine...

I guess then no iMac updates either. I was going to buy the new Mac Pro and monitor this year, but decided not to. I’ll wait until next year’s model (unless they do what they did with the 2013 model!). I’ve been looking around, and decided not to buy a PCIe 3 bus model, as the industry in is the beginning of the transition to PCIe 4. So, instead, temporarily, I’ll get a loaded iMac for the year, which I’ll give to my daughter. It would be nice if they updated it, but if they won’t, I’d rather buy it sooner rather than later this year.

This is bull! No A13 iPad Pro?! If they’re skipping the fall update I hope they just wait for next fall instead of doing a halfway to out of date Spring release.
There have only been 3 generations of iPad Pro, none of which were released in a 12 month cycle. Wishing does not make it so.

    1st gen: September 9, 2015
    2nd gen:
    June 5, 2017  (21 months)
    3rd gen:
    October 30, 2018 (17 months)

My $$$ is on the Mac Pro and new high end MacBook Pro (16") being released side-by-side within the next two weeks.
That would be a nice day for professionals!

If Apple can fully satisfy demand for its current products, especially the AirPod Pro and Apple Watch Series 5, through the holiday season they should be in good shape. I’m already seeing Nov 26th for AirPod Pro availability in the local Apple Stores. Some models of Apple Watch Series 5 are still in short supply. I know that every Apple product has its own manufacturing and supply channel but they don’t want to miss cashing in on holiday sales due to lack of inventory on current products, especially ones that make great gifts. How much pent-up demand is there for a 16” MacBook Pro with respect to holiday sales?

The former is likely, and we'd like the second. The latter just seems doubtful.
The Final Cut Creative Summit is next week from November 7-9th in Cupertino. The website says, "Attendees will start the Apple field trip with a special visit to Apple Park’s Visitor Center, with some surprises from the Apple product team."

Maybe some of the 'surprises' are the 16-inch MacBook Pro & the Mac Pro availability and pricing.

Apple TV 4K struggles on some games to go above 30 FPS. I’m not sure how happy people are with the Apple TV HD for their Arcade experience and other game play on some of the more graphic intensive games. Personally, I’d appreciate an updated Apple TV, but perhaps that’s because I’m hoping for even more graphics intensive games on Arcade and just some better overall games in general. For me, that’s racing simulators and the like that make proper use of the controllers.

We’d like to be wrong about the 16-inch. A release date for the Mac Pro at the Final Cut conference would be nice. They did show the iMac Pro at it two years ago prior to the December shipping.

Not a big deal. The A12X in the current Pros is mighty capable.

Those who want the new ones can wait until the spring.

Need an AppleTV update. Usually buy one with each new update and then retire the oldest version in the house.  I have one of the older generations in one of the bedrooms and really want to upgrade it.
Still got to buy new iPhones so maybe good that I get to say some money

Apple TV hasn't been refreshed forever and it seems like with Apple TV+ now would be a great time for some sort of update there. It seems folks are clearing inventory with AT&T selling them for $90 off today.  I a, also hoping for airtags! Seems like a great stocking stuffer?
Why does AppleTV need to be updated? It's not like it doesn't do what Apple wants it to. What else does AppleTV need to do? To me, this would just simply be updating for the sake of updating.
ATV could use a spec bump on processor and graphics. I was hoping for an update to a version with wifi-6 (802.11ax).

Bummer, I was hoping for a Mac mini spec bump.
We've been wrong before in regards to the mini, but it doesn't look like there's anything in the pipeline at present.
While I don’t doubt the grim outlook in the supply chain, Apples reluctance to pay attention to the Mac lineup is very frustrating.   I personally are reluctantly giving up on the Mac.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Mini went for 4 years again without an update.  Such foolishness makes one reconsider his commitment to Mac.

Part of this is economics!   It iso e thing to pay the Apple tax on a brand new update, it is another thing to pay that tax on a release that is 2-3 years old.   I really hope that Apple doesn’t repeat the past here. There are a couple of weeks to go before the Christmas shopping season so maybe hardware updates are waiting, if not it just makesApple look greedy.   This especially if they have a series of big hardware releases in the first part of 2020 (like they have in the past).

So my hopes for a new Apple TV are dead. Makes the most sense now than ever.

    Arcade

and hardware innovations like FaceID, AR, Facetime etc.
what use is AR on a TV? Are you going to look at the wall behind the TV????
No, you interact with things you see on the screen. Playstation 4 has had this for six years now:

So the front rendering that was in the beta was removed, and then the top shot was NOT in the beta but was included in the 10.15.1 release?  That's...odd.

I buy a new one every year,, and every year I notice a credible improvement in processing speed. I’d rather not wait until spring. I can’t even imagine why Apple couldn’t get this up and running now. Unless they’re making a huge redesign in the physical device itself, there no real reason for it. It’s hard to believe the A13x isn’t ready.

It's more iconic to have a correctly done MacBook Pro 2020. Most likely instead of just introducing one model (16-inch), they'll re-do the 13 MBP and 13 MB with major updates. I'm OK with that as long as everything is fixed properly.

Why exaclty do you need the A13? Is the A12 too slow? iPads are at the point to where you won't notice any difference in CPU/GPU, especially with the A12. Yes, the A13 is a step up but what are you gonna do with it to where you'd need the extra umph in CPU?
Everything you’re saying is absolutely true, IF one is upgrading from an A12 device. Not everybody is able or wants to upgrade to each new release. For those people, nothing sucks more than dropping a pile of money on new tech only to have a better version come out 2 months later.

I agree with what you’re saying. I was hoping for a new ATV this fall too, so I’m a little disappointed that it probably isn’t happening. But then I remembered that in 2020 the next generation PlayStation and Xbox’s are being released. Since the A12 already delivers Xbox One S class graphics, according to Apple’s 2018 iPad Pro keynote, it might be possible that the A14 matches or exceeds those next generation consoles. Could Apple be getting ready to throw their hat into the console wars and that Apple Arcade is just a prelude of what’s to come? Time will tell, but it would be pretty exciting if they do.
