Near as I can tell, the only “questionable” issue here is the following:
”Zoom is reportedly doing what's called transport encryption. This makes the connection between the users and Zoom's servers encrypted, but doesn't prevent Zoom itself seeing the calls.”
So if you have something private to say or show, don’t use Zoom! For the rest of us, no biggie. And for many meetings, for example helping people meet for church functions now that churches have closed their doors, it’s just fine.
No, you've overlooked the preflight stage of installing to do the installer, before user permission is granted.
You've overlooked their lying about E2E, which is worse than simply offering it.
You've overlooked they were selling your data to Facebook until they were shamed.
You've overlooked they were installing an insecure server which comprised your camera, until Apple *updated macOS* to expressly purge their software, like it does for malware.
...all of this makes painfully obvious Zoom is a company which does not value the security nor privacy of its users.

I have to agree but unfortunately many people like me are in a difficult position - in the current COVID era of remote conferencing, Zoom has become a near-standard for many meetings and since the organizer of the meeting chooses the platform, participants are frequently stuck with it.
