Apple TV+ adds former Spotify, Lifetime executives to documentary team
Apple has hired former Spotify executive Erika Clarke and former Lifetime executive Colleen Grogan to bolster its Apple TV+ unscripted content team.

The two hires mark the first time Apple has added U.S.-based unscripted executives to its documentaries team. Both Clarke and Grogan will report to Molly Thompson, who joined Apple as Head of Documentaries in 2019.
Clarke and Grogan both join Apple as Unscripted Creative Executives, Deadline reported on Monday. Clarke joined Apple in January, while Grogan joined in September 2020.
Before arriving at Apple, Clarke served as an executive producer at Spotify, where she co-ran the streamer's podcast studio division. Prior to that, she worked for 10 years at MTV as part of the team behind "Cribs."
Grogan previously served as the senior vice president of development for "Breaking Amish" producer Hot Snakes Media. Before that, she was the vice president of non-fiction for Lifetime, where she oversaw series such as "Bring It!" and "Coming Home."
Apple has been expanding its slate of documentary and unscripted content, which currently includes "Beastie Boys Story," "Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry," and "Boys State." It has also ordered an exclusive docu-series profiling the achievements of four supermodels.
In May 2020, Apple hired Alison Kirkham, BBC's controller of factual commissioning, to join its unscripted team in Europe.
