the interesting thing with this photo is that it's almost actual size. the guys hand matches the size of mine exactly.
judging then the width of the bottom of the device, it's roughly the height of the photo. which would make the device a similar size to the dimensions of the photo of it (if you get what i mean)
If you had the latest product in your mit and took a photo to post somewhere , you would at least get the whole thing in. Besides, it looks like the guy has airbrushed his thumb!

this is loads bigger than the ipod.
Yeah, it matches my hand too. That makes it roughly five inches wide.
I have no doubts its a real pic (not photoshop) but is it a real ipod. I don't think so.
this is what it looks like to me. a hoaxster had access to (machine shop, art school etc.) that white plastic mold. he made the mould and poured some latex like stuff in it. then he peeled the latext stuff out after hardening and placed in on top of the face of the shown ipod.
to me the telling part is the the way the latext rolls up the buttons. looks to "overlay' to me...
to "chiclet" keyboard to come from apple.
I think this man/person's on the money -- the buttons do look too shabby to come out of an Apple design project.
p.s. who's hand is THAT BIG? Maybe if you are a gorilla. @ 1024x768 on an iMac screen the hand appears as if it is apart of a monster. A good estimate would be about 2-3 inches for the iPod. I don't know what ruler/hand combination you guys are using, but I think it's on crack.

It certainly is not an Apple product. There are a couple of MP3 players that look like the iPod available. This could be one of them but it looks like a phoney. Something somebody made up. It's not elegant enough to be an Apple product.

ok as demonstration to what i'm saying:
As for the size, it is slightly larger but his hand is not flat holding this new device as it is while holding the iPod making it appear larger.
Hoax i say because they didn't take a picture of the whole thing which seems really odd.

Now that you mention it, that does look more like a simple extrusion than a moving part.
In that case, they wouldn't want to show the screen because their wouldn't be one. It's a plastic shell.
