The members of boy band BTS will present a three-part series on Apple Music 1, discussing their rise to K-Pop stardom, in time to support their new album which launches June 10, 2022.

BTS topped Apple Music's list of the most-streamed songs of 2021, and their concert films have come to Apple TV+. Now the band is present a present a three-part special on Apple Music 1, streaming weekly from May 28, 2022, at 06:00 Pacific.

"We wanted to use this radio show to celebrate nine years of BTS with you guys and with our ARMY all over the world," said the band's RM in an Apple announcement.

"Every episode is dedicated to you," RM continued, "and we wanted to share the BTS songs that help tell our story."

It's not clear yet how long each episode will run, but the three parts take different aspects of BTS. All include BTS tracks but the first episode, about the origins of the band and its style, also features music that inspired them.

And the second edition sees the seven members of the band play their fans' favourites.

Apple Music 1, formerly Beats 1, is one of Apple's three 24-hour streaming music radio services.

    “Apple Music 1”

What a sh**y name! The new guy naming and renaming Apple services doesn’t understand how syllables can ruin marketing. I used to name retail products myself and I’m blown away that Apple employees don’t understand common sense. “Apple TV+” doesn’t roll off the tongue like Netflix and Hulu. “Beats 1” was an amazing name and I believe people still call it that.

Imagine if this guy was in charge of hardware?

    Apple MP3 Player 1
    Apple Phone+ SE 3
    Apple Tablet + 12” 3

The “Apple” should be assumed. This is why “iPod” was such a BAD A** name back in the day.

    Better names:
    “Music 1”
(Since Apple hates Beats so much but Beats 1 is a better name worth $3B)
    “TV+“
(People aren’t stupid and know it’s an Apple service, Apple isn’t a small company. Add sports and this name feels more comfortable)
    “Apple Music Jam “
(iTunes Festival was nice but they had to rename it to the tedious “Apple Music Festival” how can that compete with “Coachella”)

Is BTS still huge? If so, this can help Apple. They really should have a series or documentary/movie on Apple TV+.

I think they are. My daughters are obsessed despite not speaking a word of Korean.

As for branding, I think there are whole armies of corporate weenies with cookie cutter MBAs pretending they are cleverer than anyone else justifying their existence changing branding according to fashion or because they would be out of a job otherwise. Prevailing fashion is to put your company name in front. Stupid idea if you ever want to sell the brand.
