On Friday, Apple opened preorders for the Apple Vision Pro headset, and to celebrate the occasion, they've now shared a new video titled "Making Apple Vision Pro."

The short video shows watchers how Apple's new spatial computing headset is made, as a Vision Pro is built piece by piece in a factory. The video is set to "Heard Somebody Whistle" by Jay-Jay Johanson.

The base Apple Vision Pro is $3,499, and that comes with 256GB of storage. For 512GB, the price is $3,699, and for a 1TB edition, it's $3,899.

While the device was initially said to ship in early February, it came as no surprise that shipping dates began slipping back nearly instantly. After two hours of preorders, shipping dates for Apple Vision Pro were being listed as into March and in some cases even April.

Disappointed they didn't show the internal components. I knew that would press fit to mold the front glass, then polish and the aluminum frame needed a 5 to 6-axis CNC machine.

I do wonder if they had to custom design the machines to make the headbands or those are existing machines capable of making all sorts of fabrics depending on programming.

Apple may not build stuff, but Apple knows, designs and advances manufacturing technologies the way only Tesla seemingly gets credit for doing so.   This company is a beast.

That's what I love about Apple products. The materials are truly superior compared to competitors' materials. Apple designs and sweats over tiny details from bottom to top and it shows.

Nice video.  Terrible music.  The marketing department really needs to broaden their use of music genres — a classical piece would have been more suitable for this video.
