who the hell is John Sculley

He was CEO of Apple forever (since 84-85?)... I think Jobs brought him in (or the maybe the board) and he fired stevey eventually if my swiss cheese memory has anything left.
who the hell is John Sculley

John Sculley helmed Apple as CEO from 1983 to 93. He is a huge figure in the company?s history. It was during his tenure that the look and the feel of the Macintosh was set. Every Mac head should know who he is!
Well, FOX television had Tanya Harding vs. Paula Jones and Joey Buttafuco vs. Chyna . Now, I get the feeling Steve and John are finally going to settle their grudge in the same ring. They'll be bad mouthing each other in the interviews leading up to the boxing match. I'm betting Steve will win. His friendship with Ali probably helped him make connections with good trainers. Pepsiboy is going down!
Beacuse they have not been done right (i.e. by apple such as: all in one computer, MP3 players, the newton)
There are many threads about why they suck. To surmise, they're only useful for somewhere you can't type. Thus, no market. A flippable touchscreen iBook with stylus & InkWell makes more sense. Tablets suck. How many people here own one? How many know someone who does? I've never even seen one.
Here is how i think that a tablet would be useful:
as a removable display, want to surf, and write a few e-mails on the couch use the tablet, want to do some heavy lifting, plug it back into the base station with access to full cpu badwith and acccessories.
I am the ideal customer, I love my pismo and woreless internet but need more power for my freelance work, i hate to buy a tower and display. but I still want more power and expantion (any one say QE) I would pay 2000-2500 for one system that would do both (wireless surfing and high power/expantion)

You might want to watch out. I bet "Pepsiboy" is still bitter about "Apple Slice?" "Yeah John, tell your friends back at Pepsi? it's a sure best seller, who would miss the tie in to everyone's favorite fruit company."
no matter what the next product is... it has to have a wow and reconition factor.
When I first got my iPod when I walked into school with it there was all this "ooo" "ahh"
and to my suprise most people knew what it was... those ads were very successfull, after alota people played with it they knew they had to get one...
it has to be the same way with anything else they make.. wether it is a sleek deign excelent navagation and function of the device or what, when people see it they need to go wow, cause thats what sells macs

An audio suit? As in, audio editing iSoftware? That would totally ROCK!!! I would love something like that.
I hope it's not a digital camera. We have enough of those.
An Apple branded PDA would be nice.

yea because there aren't enough of PDAs
there were many MP3 players out before the iPod yet Apple made the nicest one and brought everything together. digital camera market is dieing for a consumer oriented high quality digital camera that syncs easily, has good storage, is simple to use, and is a good all around value
These tablets are so awesome that they even come with keyboards, so you can do more than poke at the display with a stylus. They have HDs, optical drives, and a full set of I/O ports. 5+ hr battery life.
Listen, a keyboardless laptop is something that Apple is NOT going to make in the near future. It is a nearly useless product that belongs in a Sharper Image catalog for rich twats.

Hmm. What happens if you pour Fran, John Sculley and InkWell into a bowl and mix?

Well, I'm not sure. But I bet there's a teenager that would have a crush on him

Then again this is very Biased scence my iPod is lonley being the only apple aplience in the house...
This guy who posted the glove/ludica thing had good timing...
"? The Reverand Cutler ?
(ordained on the net scence 2000)
formerly Slc57"

Jobs will apologize profusefuly for taking orders when the product was nearly vaporware to begin with.
Apple's stock will close 2% lower on the announcement of actually shipping product instead of cancelling orders (again).

An Apple branded PDA would be nice.
However, I suspect if Apple ever did come out with one again, it would really need to have some mindblowing capabilities.
Something amazing would be required in order to differentiate it from the already crowded PDA market.

[QB]Apple already makes TWO different tablet lines, with three different display sizes:
