I'm gettin 504 kbps down, 292 kbps up. Awesome considering that my line is only a 500/128. I'm happy I wouldn't mind having a bandwidth doubling, but I'll take what I got now too.

It's... the ultimate... the reliable... 56k!!! Ahem. Too bad I don't have DSL or cable, 56k isn't what you'd call 'fast'.

Your download speed : 3296896 bps, or 3296 kbps.

    A 402.4 KB/sec transfer rate.

Your upload speed : 364930 bps, or 364 kbps.

Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

here it is 2 years since the last post and yet I feel the need to open this subject again.

2 years and the computer I had 6 months ago is obsolete, yet I still have the same tech issues others had 2 years ago.

look at my test speed for windows xp...

and here technology is supposed to be better.

so I wonder is anyone going to put a stop to this unregulated crap?

According to my 2WIRE Router's System Page

    Broadband Link Connection Speed:

    • Incoming: 3008 kbps

    • Outgoing: 512 kbps

Anyways, basically about 3Mbps, which isn't too bad, but the Averages are quickly going up again and I'll need a faster connection

Mine used to have a 250MB/day limit before it got very slow. Thats not being enforced anymore. Generally, it is around 4-5Mbs

    A slow day for me.

Can't be bothered with an ethernet cable ... so that is my wireless rate.

Stuck in 56k dialup land... which means more like 40k.

    Yay.

I'm 5 down 2 up. Buisness class and work pays for it. 8)

Well I'm supposed to be at 720 kbps or somewhere around there, but currently my download speed (which is above average right now) is 58.5 kbps (downloading Boot Camp from Apple). I hate it.

However this is my test from speedtest.net

So my question is why is it everytime I download something or stream something it is about at dial-up speeds?

I just got 7536 Kbps down, 719 Kbps up (920/87.8 KB/sec). Just shy of a megabyte per second download rate -- can't complain too much about that, although the rate is variable and not always quite so high.
