What browser are you using with a dark blue background in the address bar?

when you highlight a tab in Camino, it turns blue. since the fav. icon is in the title bar, you can see the white, crusty edges then.

Brad, i'm using Safari mostly, when page loads, progress bar is displayed behind favicon, so you can see white edges, and it's even worse if you have folder in your bookmarks bar, look:

Well, the icon is changed, but unfortunately, Safari doesn't ever refresh the favicon. So, you will have to delete your ~/Library/Safari/Icons or reset safari to get any changes.

Beats the pants off the icons in the other thread Paul linked too. Those were hideous.

I've made my own variation. I like.

I'm not seeing the favicon. I have the default blue globe like thing that you get if a site doesn't have one set. I'm on Safari 1.1.1. Why can all ya'll see this and I can't?

Just noticed the new favicon today ... Glad to see it wasn't changed because of a letter from the legal department in Cupertino.

Hey, I was wondering why I was getting the "ai" icon in other browsers but not in Safari. Thanks for the tip, Brad.
