Yup, even the Canada store is showing 5-7 days now. Just a few hours ago it was 1-2 days.
Something is brewing for sure. Good thing too, I've got some $ burning a hole in my pocket and I've been waiting for this even though I just bought a new iBook.
Just tried a BTO at the UK Apple store as we are looking at getting some new Macs at work. I tried to order a G4/933 with CDRW instead of superdrive and with larger HD (80 gig) and it gave a build time of 3-4 weeks!!!!
This seems a fair indicator of what happening as I then tried a BTO powerbook 800 to compare (with more Ram and 60gig drive) and its build time was only 4-5 days!!
I'm looking for a cheaper mac, was thinking about an emac but now that the new powermacs are coming out, wonder if i'll be able to get a cheap dual ghz i sure hope so....

There are *ALOT* of dual 1ghz power macs on ebay. About 10 of them from the same supplier, prolly some mac dealer afraid of getting stuck with 10 of them when the new ones come out.
Its just hours left until thusday 13 and not a single word about a special event on apples hpmepage. Do you guys still think well get the new PM tomorrow?
No kidding. This can't be a big update, because they'd want to have the press there for free advertising. So I guess it'll be the same old SlowSilver @ 1.2 ghz. No DDR. Not even like the XServe. Nothing new except a small bump. It's just been too quiet.
yeah but the market that the powermacs are directed at is also the market that already knows that there is an update coming.. apple don't need the average home user who is more likely to buy an imac to know that the new powermacs are finally being released..
It has always seemed to me that the 13th was a bit optimistic. If Jaguar is scheduled for the 24th (as rumoured here and elsewhere), why would the new Power Macs be intro'd on the 13th? I'm betting on the 24th for the new power macs. Don't hold your breath for tomorrow.

We could still get the DDR like XServe has. It's not really anything spectacular so why does Apple need all of the press there? IMO, that still would just be a minor update.

It won't happen on the 24th. This has been stated over and over again. The 24th is a Saturday.
If it doesn't happen tomorrow, it will happen on the 20th or the 27th.
Oh, and Jaguar release on the 24th isn't a rumour. That is the day Apple has announced for its release.

amen, if nothing else, a price drop in PowerMacs would be a breath of fresh air. I'm not as interested in new hardware as I am in affordable hardware.
Do you think the new cases will be less noisy?
What do you think the prices will be?
From your lips to GOD/Buhhda/Alah's ears. I hope so!
<a href="http://www.realultimatepower.net/" target="_blank">http://www.realultimatepower.net/</a> is AWESOME!
