But it would all bend the same direction, so I don't think there would be any notice to it. But you have a definite point of kids climbing it. A child could get pissed and throw that iMac a lot easier than an eMac. It's something to consider.
No that wouldn't happen - it's not using Windows remember.
only one problem here my friend.. norway is not an EU member but the danish have the same rules i think.. its a law that makes sure that a customer who buys outside a retail store (mail, web, phone sale) gets what he wants. so he can freely try it out for 14 days upon arrival.. the law co-exists with the law that says that no mather what i have 5 years of "warranty" on my purchase.
Same in UK, however, Apple state that they will only return goods of they were delivered within 30 days and have not been opened. Obviously the law lies above this though.
Funny thing about the G5's. When news of the 970 first broke, and there was much debate on these fora, I was putting the longest time-frame of anyone on their eventual roll out in Powerbooks, and taking a lot of shit from the fanboy brigade about it too. Sitting here in early 2005, Apple is now exceeding even my pessimistic time frame.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say to anyone who remembers: I told you so

well I'll check them out! So should I wait for dual-core or just buy a 1.67GHz G4 on Tuesday. I want to use motion, and creative suite and keep this laptop for three years. Basic video editing would be good as well! What do you reckon?
I don't know. I think one more G4 rev. And, depending on how long it takes to get a G5 in there, Freescale could be back in the game. Some of the G4 stuff doesn't sound all that bad for a mobile application, truth be told. And what Freescale could offer looks good...
The longer we wait for a G5, the more likely a split in mobile and dektop technologies becomes...
Do you really think this Tuesday will be powerbook upgrade day?
It's more a hope! It'll be after iLife comes out so maybe the 1st instead, i expect it soon, but I'm optimistic. I was expecting a G5 in Jan until December last year!

in norway they cant say that the product has to be un-opened... i can try it for 14 days.. its the law.. even apple cant avoid that!
im really confused about this...so the new PowerBooks that are rumored to be coming out within the next few weeks are going to work perfectly with Tiger. i mean, is tiger fully supported by the new machines. does anyone know what current machines besides the powermac are supported by tiger...im slightly confused because i have heard that many machines such as the iBook wont support Tiger to its full capabilities...whats the truth?????

All current computers will work perfectly with Tiger. Tiger adds 64-bit support so that 64-bit computers work faster. They can't bring out a computer in Jan and then in April bring out software that doesn't work with it. iMac G3s will still be supported by Tiger. Tiger is optimised for 64-bit but will still work with 32-bit. iBooks will be 32-bit for a while, so will PowerBooks and Mac mini. They also have to supoprt old products to some extent.

I guess that ineedag5pbnow (what a nick... ) was referring to the Core Image "problem". The graphics cards of some older (and even some of the newer, including Mac Mini) Macs won't fully support Core Image effects, which means that some of the eye-candy might get lost on those machines. That's it, nothing serious...

That's the same as quartz extreme. Some older computers wont support it but it's just speed and eye candy, not functionality.
