Hi RTK. I started a mobile lending library of AAC equipment, assessment and tech support in Manitoba in the early 1980s when most of the high-end AAC devices cost $5-8 thousand, and a full scale Dragon Dictate system was well over $10k.  So $3,500 looks like a bargain right now.  The Open Access Resource Center is still running, and we also created a virtual cooperative with all the SLP providers to help them share equipment, tech, and assessment services across program, age, and disability lines.

Great fun and still leaning in 40 years later.

Are you still working in this sandbox?

This guy Polymnia is a real joke though. We now have a few members who can’t read people’s posts correctly, or choose not to do so, and then get offended because I call them out on it. Frankly, I do get disgusted at someone who refuses to respond to a complete argument, no matter how many times I ask them to. They would rather take one sentence out of context and continue to rag on that, while becoming more fixated each post. I admit I lose respect for them after a while, and let them know it.

i still find it funny, and annoying, that someone would flag me for saying that someone I know quite well is acting like a fanboy in the discussion we were having. A discussion that wasn’t his, and one where the person I was talking to wasn’t particularly upset by the comment. I wonder what problems this guy has. His escalating comments are nuts.
