Tim Cook may have met with Trump during WWDC to discuss second term priorities

Go figure…Reducing the corporate tax rate to compete with other countries allowed US companies to repatriate billions of dollars back to the United States.According to the CBO those tax cuts increased federal tax revenue because the economy grew. Inflation came from all the crazy spending congress has done over the last few years, starting during the pandemic.macxpress said:Fred257 said:Trump is going to lose in an absolute landslide. Both candidates are senile. Is this the best as a country we can do? Sad… -

Apple updates rules surrounding EU DMA compliance to address developer concerns
libertymatters said:A maze of red tape to make it prohibitive. An alternative app store on macOS requires no interaction or input from Apple at all. An example is MacPorts. The real answer here is customers demanding app freedom on iOS and iPadOS from Apple and voting with their dollars if Apple doesn't deliver. The same app freedoms should exist on iOS/iPadOS as has existed on macOS since 1984: 'sideloading' allowed. The very term 'sideloading' is itself a loaded term that presumes an authority that Apple doesn't have, control of YOUR device. It is your device not Apple's. You should be able to load on it whatever app you darn well please. That is still true on the Mac. It should be true for iPhones too.
I’ll enjoy watching these app stores fall on their faces -
Apple users are keeping their iPads for a very long time
The trend is pretty clear estimating iPad unit sales that the average device life is heading to 6+ years. About when Apple stops software upgrades
Same thing I believe is happening with Macs. 7+ average life
Best thing Apple can do is keep adding new users to the installed base. Eventually, units sales will increase as the average device life plateaus -

Apple axes Wi-Fi router division, apparently signaling the end of AirPort
This, if true, is a bad move. 3rd party solutions are (still) a mess. Their software absolutely sucks. There is no integration with Apple products.
This, plus the decision not to make their own monitors, makes Apple very unreliable has I look at my personal tech roadmap. I increasingly can't count on them
